This is one of the best soundtracks I have heard in a while, and that includes movie soundtracks. If you are a fan of The Bourne Identity/Supremacy/Ultimatum soundtracks, written by the brilliant British composer John Powell, you will absolutely love this one. It's in the same vein. 2 hours and 20 minutes of intense action-packed music marked by tribal drumming and eerie overtones will have you on the edge of your seat, be it at your desk or on the highway doing triple digits. Not for the faint of heart! This can safely be filed under "Buy or die."

Although quite expensive for a soundtrack, I decided to buy this anyway. And luckily, I wasn't disappointed. Two cds of high quality music. The music being as dramatic as the game itself.

But I don't think this kind of music is for everybody. You have to like this sneaking -kind of music to really appreciate this soundtrack.

The music itself is influenced by couple of Hollywood movies. For example, if you liked soundtrack from gladiator, you will like the "love theme". If you liked the guitar playing from "The Man on Fire" -soundtrack, you'll also like "Old Snake" track.

I recommend this to all MGS fans. You can live the atmosphere of MGS4 while being away from your PS3:)

First and foremost, I'm shocked to see the price of this soundtrack on Amazon. I don't understand why it's so expensive; if the price is driving you away, there's plently of online import shops that sell this for around $30 (sorry Amazon).

As for the soundtrack itself, not as good as MGS3's in my opinion; but thankfully, as opposed to the last game's cd, this one comes with information regarding who created what track. I truly appreciated this. Back in MGS2, I wasn't so impressed by Harry Gregson-Williams work. For MGS3-I loved the soundtrack, and credited HGW for much of it. But for me, his lackluster work for MGS4 got me to do a bit of digging, and I've found that some of my absolute favorite tracks throughout the series haven't involved HGW at all.

The point is, by his name being on this CD (and previous ones), to some degree he takes away a lot of credit and acclaim from the other brilliant individuals that contributed to the music of the Metal Gear Solid Saga; I feel almost compelled to write this review simply for that fact.

If you enjoyed the score while playing the game, you should definitely pick this up, and if anything appreciate the lesser know composers.
