Designed for use with an incandescent or halogen bulb, the bulbs connected to the dimmer will last more than 3X their rated life. Dim the lights just 50% to save 40% electricity and extend bulb life 20 times. Use the rocker switch to turn light on/off and the slider to dim the lights---creating your perfect ambiance. Skylark is easy to install wherever there is an existing switch. Using standard 3-way wiring and screw terminals makes for a 15-minute retrofit. Skylark dimmers are perfect for every room of your home. Used in the kitchen, they can create a romantic mood for dining or brighten work areas for meal preparation. This replaced an older style "circle dimmer" switch that stopped working after about ten years. There is a rocker switch for on or off and a simple slider
to adjust/dimm the lights. It was easy to install and both looks good and works well so far. It is installed in the dining room where I like to be able to change the lighting as needed. One side note: the outside "decorative" edge does not come with this package. I bought the Leviton 021-80401-00W Decora 1-Gang Wallplate, (White) separately to "finish" the install.

Made noise when trying to dim. And didn't dim lights. So I returned it.
