Used on clothing, permethrin is an odorless, biodegradable insecticide that is non-toxic to humans. It is extremely effective against ticks, mosquitoes, and many other biting pests. Unlike DEET, it won't soften plastics or discolor clothing. One treatment lasts up to six weeks (may last longer if clothing is stored in a plastic bag between use) Kills or repels bed bugs, lice, ticks, mosquitoes, and biting flies. Can also be used to treat your tent, screenhouse, bug nets, or hotel bed

I treated my clothes for a hunting trip to South Africa. I
had no tick bites at all. I found one tick climbing up my pants leg and watched it fall off dead. Stuff works.

This is a fine product but it's way overpriced here. Search the REI website and find the same product for $7, or find it for less than that with Chinook Medicine.
