Editorial Reviews

About the Artist
The Atlanta-based quintet breaks new ground and addresses new challenges on its latest album, Graffiti the World. The collection is truly the work of combined contributions from each individual member of the band. "It's five people getting' together and trying to do the music that they want to hear," says front man Danny Alexander. "Everybody contributed. You always have a vision of what you want to do and it never really comes out the way you plan it, but the end result is really good. You're just constantly trying to put out what you feel. The final result of their combined efforts evokes a more positive and inspired feeling to the record. Formed in the late '90s, pioneering mash-ups of scorching rock and searing rap, Rehab released its debut album, Southern Discomfort in 2000, filled with an array of guest stars including Cee-Lo, Goodie Mob and Cody Chestnutt. The album spun off the top 15 modern rock hit "It Don't Matter" and sold over 140 thousand units. This success enabled the band to kick off a 2 year national tour supporting the Vans Warped Tour and bands like Kottonmouth Kings and Linkin Park. Then, three years ago, in the wake of diverging creative, personal and financial points of view, the group splintered. While facing down his own personal demons, Danny brought together a new version of the band, which has delivered, Graffiti the World. "I did a lot of observing and lyrically sat down for a while and thought about what was going on around me, what I wanted to do and where I wanted to do it," Danny says. This album is a documentary of the station you are in life and trying to get to the next area or stop." For Rehab, Graffiti the World is a band's bid to cover the world with special sounds, seeking the dark and light within, asking questions and perhaps, sometimes, finding the right answers. And Danny says he knows well he can't do that alone. Along with the help of not only his band members, he collaborated with A-list producers/mixers Billy Hume, whose credits include the Ying Yang Twins, David Banner, and Bonecrusher, and Phil Tan whose worked with the Neptunes, Snoop, and Mariah Carey.

Product Description
Explicit Version. 'We always thought 'Bartender Song (Sittin' At A Bar)' was a hit song, but our old label didn't agree and was not interested in pushing it. So we decided to re-record it with better sounds and give it to Universal Republic because they believed in us. It's truly a unique situation when a band has to cover their own song to make it work.' per Danny Boone -founder of Rehab. 'Whether your listeners have been playing this one in their local dive for the last several years or they're new to the song, Rehab's 'Sittin' At A Bar' will strike an immediate chord and will set the phones on fire faster than a bartender can light a pyramid of Flaming Dr. Peppers...' DJ Frito - KJYO of Oklahoma City.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Most Slept on Band In The Entire World, July 30, 2008
I first heard Rehab when they opened up for the Kottonmouth Kings back in the day.I fell in love with the raps, music, and the style.I was happy when I found out the put of the 1st pressing of this album. The new issue is good but they took off some of my fav. tracks like Wht Do U Want From Me,and This I Know.Bartender aka Sittin' At Bar is off the chain.I love the country feel to the remake.I recomend this cd to fans of Psychopatic,Suburban Noize, and all people who like rap with a music behind it not just a beat.

4.0 out of 5 stars REHAB - A HIT , September 9, 2008
By Greg Williamson (Nashville, Tennessee) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I ordered this CD because I listened to the sample of the "Bartender Song" and liked it. When I received the CD and ran through all of the tracks I discovered a group that is very diverse. There is quite a mixture of Rock and Hip-Hop. The only reason I couldn't give it a 5 star rating, there are a few songs that just aren't relevant to me in particular. Listen to all of the sample tracks if you think you might like the CD order it, once you can run through the whole CD I don't think you will be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars I've never heard anything like this.....in a good way, July 9, 2009
So, I was searching for music that's fresh, different, and slightly out there. I can confidently say that this album easily fits that bill. What really amazed me is the difference between tracks. From the electronic vocals in "Bump" to the intense guitar in "Chest Pain" to the melodies of "Graffiti the World", this album has a little bit of everything for everyone. This is mostly a good thing, however, some songs may not be your cup of tea. For me, this does not detract from the overall greatness of the album. Even if you don't like a few of the songs, the album should still be purchased.

Most contemporary rap songs have the same boring bass and drum beats and lyrics about the same stupid things. Personally, I don't care about how many girls one rapper has or the number of people another has killed. These songs all have solid, thought-provoking lyrics, some more serious than others but all great in their own way. And there's actual music in the background (GASP!!!). When asked to describe this band...I really couldn't. They are their own style of rap/rock that must be heard to be understood. If you're curious about this album, just buy it. After a few plays through, you will love it. You might not at first because it is so different, but you will. If you like rap, buy this album. If you like rock, buy this album. If you like good lyrics, buy this album.

My personal favorite songs (in no specific order):
-Bump
-Bottles and Cans
-Graffiti the World
-Chest Pain
-1980
-Last Tattoo

I highly recommend this to anyone...but parents, beware. Many 4 letter words are said.
