View images in low-light conditions

Night Vision
This camera has the ability to view images in low light conditions or full darkness. It is important to use the provided Power Adaptor (and not the Batteries) when using the Camera for prolonged periods of time in low light conditions, or full darkness, as the Night Vision will drain the battery more quickly than regular daytime use.

Versatile Camera Stand
The Camera can be placed on a flat surface like a table or a dresser, or wall mounted. The stand has several joints to allow for many different viewing angles.

Easy To Add Aditional Cameras
The system comes with camera(s) that have already been paired to the receiver. These cameras will automatically communicate with the receiver once powered on. It is very easy to add a 3rd and 4th camera to the receiver.

True Wireless Abilities
The receiver is designed to be portable and can receive wireless transmission up to 450ft. max. from the camera.

The Camera comes with a built-in battery pack for temporary use, so the Camera can be placed in an area that does not have a power outlet.

Recharging and Power

• The Receiver comes with a cradle for recharging. The receiver will still function normally while recharging in the cradle.
• The Camera comes with a power adaptor for long term use. When using the power adaptor, the camera will not use the batteries as a power source. This is ideal when there is a sudden power outage.

Use less power in Power Saver mode

Power Saver Mode
With the Power Saver Mode turned on, the receiver can function longer in between full charges as it uses less power in this mode. The Power Saver Mode turns the display and audio off on the receiver, until the Camera detects noise. Once noise is detected from the camera, the receiver will alert you with the alarm, and will automatically turn on the display and audio.

Audio and Audio Detection
Audio is one-way from camera to receiver. The receiver volume can be adjusted using the UP and DOWN arrow buttons when viewing a camera. When the volume is set to one bar (lowest setting), the volume is muted. Audio Detection Sensitivity can be adjusted by scrolling up or down on the Camera’s Sound Alarm Trigger. The audio detection is so sensitive it can detect the faintest of sounds.

PIP

PIP: the camera’s image can be displayed as PIP on a TV. This allows the user to monitor their camera, while watching TV.

Notification Messages
The "Out of Range" notification message is designed to notify you when the camera and receiver are not able to communicate with a strong signal. This allows for camera placement adjustments to help prevent image loss when actively monitoring. When the camera and receiver can no longer communicate with each other a "No Signal" message will appear.

Audio / Video Out (A/V Out) The A/V Cable plugs into the cradle (or receiver) outputs, and into a TV/VCR or Monitor.

I was both and surprised and thrilled with the functionality and performance of the Lorex LW2002W. I really do mean thrilled with the performance. The video will give you more details on the functionality - but below is a summary of my likes and dislikes.

Pros

- Highly sensitive microphone
- Low light capability
- Very easy set-up
- Will interface with your television - will allow for a split screen using your picture-in-picture.
- Works with a recording device - a DVR, VCR, or other devices.
- Alarm for any changes in status - if it detects movement or sound
- Decent range (Not great but not bad)
- Monitor will support up to 4 cameras

Cons-

- Need to watch for audio feedback if the monitor gets to close to the camera (It could wake a baby) ... note that this is standard for any audio equipment if the receiver gets to close to the source.
- A bigger screen would be nice - if I was trying to find something to complain about

Great product at a reasonable price - the Lorex LW2002W is a easy product to review and enjoy!

I looked at the other two similar systems available and this one is the best in my opinion:

Setup is extremely easy - charge and turn on. Picture quality both day and night vision are excellent.
Camera can be rotated at good variety of angles and can be battery powered (though night vision would drain batteries quickly).
It's digital, so neighbors can't see your cameras and you can't see theirs instead of yours.

What differentiated this from the other ones for me was:

1) availability of additional cameras, up to 4 that can be monitored from same receiver, and
2) this system uses Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum technology, so it can co-exist with your 802.11b/g access points. I was able to use my laptop over 802.11g just fine while using the camera receiver right next to it.

My son grew up with Summer infant video monitor, until last month when my husband misplaced the receiver.
I have tried the Safety 1st High-Def Digital Video Monitor, returned it (read my review on that one)
Then I purchased this monitor and still deciding if I should return it and try another.
Few things I discovered so far.

PROS:
- Great clear picture when available
- Very sensitive microphone
- Convenient charging cradle

CONS:
- The biggest concern for me - the red lights for night vision come on when you turn off the lights and they scare my son. I know it might sound silly - but the first time he saw them - he freaked out, totally. Now he does not let me turn the camera his way, so I basically have an audio monitor for now. I'm hoping to convince him not to be scared so I can see him, but he won't give up yet. To mention - they do look spooky those small bright red dots in the circle... My son told me they also made a beep, but this is unverified :)
- Sound mutes when baby is quiet and then suddenly comes on when it loses signal or baby stirs. This sometimes shakes me a little when I'm in the quiet room.
- Range is not that great. In my 5,000 sq.ft 2-story house I have quite a few "low signal" and "no signal" zones. But I also had them with Summer Infant monitor. The Safety 1-st monitor had a bigger range and worked almost anywhere in the house.
- The on/off button should be re-located as it is often pressed accidentally because of its location.
