Product Description

Debuting on Broadway in 2003, Hairspray won eight Tony Awards including the awards for Best Musical and Best Score. Originally based on the John Waters film, Hairspray again became a movie in 2007, incorporating Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman's songs from the Broadway musical.

Our accompaniment/karaoke CD of songs from Hairspray features 36 tracks. Tracks 1-18 contain the background tracks and guide vocals; tracks 19-36 contain the accompaniment tracks alone. This album is a re-recording in the original show key and show tempo.

It's a good effort, but compared to the official karaoke versions you can find on the official 2 cds Collector's Edition Soundtrack, it's just no good.

The only good thing is that the voices are accurate and on time, which is good to practice. But come on, we've all got enough of low quality karaoke adaptations. Here there is no good orchestration, and no musician "expressing" the music. Everything's flat, and I really don't recommend that CD for any other use than a late night party.
