5.0 out of 5 stars The Eric Theodore Cartman Society , October 1, 2008
Why can't we all be more like Cartman? I am so excited that "South Park" is finally putting out a best-of Cartman set. If you've watched this long running, wholesome, family-friendly series then you know exactly what I mean. Cartman is such a cute little critter. And so intelligent and loving. When I think of Cartman I am always reminded of all the good that Jesus has done. Cartman is a totally thankless individual who only wants to spread love and devotion.

Released on the eve of "South Park's" premiere (the second half of Season 12 kicks off on 10/8 with an entirely new ep all about Cartman, The China Probrem) is "The Cult of Cartman - Revelations." (Some brick & mortar, big-box stores like Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Target are likely selling this new set before 10/7 though.) Anyway, this is a 2-DVD set which includes a total of a dozen of Cartman's most-loved, classic eps. My favorite is probably your favorite too, Scott Tenorman Must Die. If you learn one thing from Cartman it's never to piss him off because he may make you eat your parents!

The set is packaged very cleverly to look like a Holy Bible. The back cover includes a pic of Cartman with his hands up in a devotional pose (I think it's a pic from the Christian Rock ep). Each disc is black and includes the same pic of Cartman. Cartman also pops up for a rare appearance on this set introducing the eps.

Eps include:
Scott Tenorman Must Die (Season 5/July 11, 2001) **
Cartman gets even with Scott Tenorman (for selling him a box of pubes) by making him eat his parents at the chili con carne cook-off. Radio Head appear as themselves to make fun of the little crybaby.

Cartmanland (Season 5/July 25, 2001) **
Cartman gets a large inheritance and decides to use the money for good; open up a theme-park that no one else can attend (especially Kyle and Stan).

Up The Down Steroid (Season 8/March 24, 2004)
Cartman feigns a handicap to join a special sporting event. I love it when Mrs. Cartman is registering him and is asked what disability he has; of course she doesn't know so she asks Cartman, and he says, "what are you asking me for I'm a retard."

AWESOM-O (Season 8/April 14, 2004)
Cartman dresses up as a robot in the hopes of catching Butters in an embarrassing and shocking moment. But the tables are sorely turned when it's revealed that Cartman likes to dress up like Britney Spears and dance around a picture of Justin Timberlake.

The Death of Eric Cartman (Season 9/April 13, 2005) **
Cartman again teams up with Butters when the gang all makes him think that he's dead. After going into a hostage situation and saving everyone Cartman is finally able to reclaim his good name when his old buddies forgive him.

Ginger Kids (Season 9/November 9, 2005)**
After Cartman gives a scathing report claiming that "ginger kids" are sub-humans, Kyle and Stan decide to turn him ginger (they bleach his skin and color his hair while he's sleeping). Once ginger, Cartman now decides that gingers are the superior race and sets out to eliminate all others.

Cartoon Wars Part I (Season 10/April 5, 2006)
Everyone in town is in a furror when a popular TV show decides to show the sacred image of a religious figure on coast-to-coast TV.

Cartoon Wars Part II (Season 10/April 12, 2006)
Cartman will stop at nothing to get "Family Guy" canceled.

Le Petit Tourette (Season 11/October 3, 2007)
This time around Cartman decides that the best way to garner attention is by faking Tourette syndrome. However all isn't copasetic when Cartman starts spontaneously revealing private revelations. Of course Kyle gets involved to expose Cartman.

Tonsil Trouble (Season 12/March 12, 2008) **
Always the compassionate leader, with the help of Kyle, Cartman finds the cure for AIDS. (After infecting his nemesis with the deadly disease.)

Eek, a Penis! (Season 12/April 9, 2008)
Cartman goes to a rough inner-city to become a teacher, going by the name of "Mr. Cartmenez." This is also an important ep because in the subplot Mrs. Garrison decides that she no longer wants to be a woman.

Super Fun Time (Season 12/April 23, 2008)
Cartman is again stuck with Butters during a field trip that goes awry.

(** IMO these ones are the very best)

Some more popular Cartman eps:
Cartman Gets an Anal Probe (on the Season 1 DVD set)
Cartman is visited by aliens who stick things up his butt.

Starvin' Marvin (on the Season 1 DVD set)
Cartman is at his most grediest when he takes food away from Starvin' Marvin.

Cartman's Mom Is a Dirty Slut (on the Season 1 DVD set)
Cartman sets out to find out who his real father is.

Cartman's Mom Is Still a Dirty Slut (on the Season 2 DVD set)
To everyone's shock, Cartman finally finds out who his father is.

Rainforest Schmainforest (on the Season 3 DVD set)
Cartman doesn't give a flying fig about the rain forest.

Sexual Harassment Panda (on the Season 3 DVD set)
Cartman sues Stan in a sexual harassment case and is then the victim of another litigious suit.

Cat Orgy (on the Season 3 DVD set)
This is one of my very favorites because it teams Cartman and Shelley Marsh. Cartman and Shelley join forces to get back at Skyler.

Cartman's Silly Hate Crime 2000 (on the Season 4 DVD set)
Cartman goes to a prison for bad kids after committing a hate-crime.

Probably (on the Season 4 DVD set)
After he catches his priest enjoying butt-sex with a chick in the confessional booth, Cartman starts his own church.

Fat Camp (on the Season 4 DVD set)
Cartman goes to fat camp, but sneaks out.

How to Eat with Your Butt (on the Season 5 DVD set)
Cartman finds out that some jokes aren't always funny.

Fat Butt and Pancake Head (on the Season 7 DVD set)
Cartman's "Jennifer Lopez" enjoys an exciting singing career.

Casa Bonita (on the Season 7 DVD set)
Cartman kidnaps Butters in the hopes of being invited to Kyle's birthday party at Casa Bonita.

Butt Out (on the Season 7 DVD set)
Cartman becomes an anti-smoking advocate.

The Passion of the Jew (on the Season 8 DVD set)
Cartman is the president of the Mel Gibson fan club.

Cartman's Incredible Gift (on the Season 8 DVD set)
Cartman becomes a psychic and tries to solve some of the recent murders in town.

Tsst (on the Season 10 DVD set)
Cartman starts behaving after Liane contacts the help of a dog trainer.

Cartman Sucks (on the Season 11 DVD set)
Cartman once again tries to catch Butters in a compromising moment.

Sorry Fred Flintstone and Bart Simpson, Eric Cartman is by far the most popular and the most controversial TV star in the entire history of episodidc TV. That is because Cartman tells it like it is and isn't afraid to take chances or try something a little different. He doesn't care about being popular or fitting in because all that matters to Cartman (besides Jesus and food, of course) is being happy. Cartman is a true hedonist in the purest and simplist form. Never has there been another person like Cartman.

4.0 out of 5 stars For the casual fan who doesn't have the season sets, or the devoted fan who must have everything., September 30, 2008
By Paul J. Mular (San Carlos, CA USA) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
Made to look like a book with gold leaf edging on the sides, the novel packaging will appeal to the fans who must have everything South Park.

The collection of "a dozen of Cartman's most important teachings" will appeal to the casual fan who does not want to invest in season sets.

1) Scott Tenorman Must Die
2) Awesom-O
3) The Death of Eric Cartman
4) Cartoon Wars (Part 1)
5) Cartoon Wars (Part 2)
6) Le Petite Tourtte
7) Tonsil Trouble --first time on DVD--
8) Eek, A P****! --first time on DVD--
9) Cartmanland
10) Up The Down Steroid
11) Super Fun Time --first time on DVD--
12) Ginger Kids

Exclusive to this DVD set is an "Original Life Lessons Introduction" by Eric Cartman.
Official Member card for The Eric Theodore Cartman Society.
An Eric Cartman Decal
While three of these episodes are new to DVD, it is probably not enough for a collector of the season sets to want to duplicate the other 9 episodes, knowing that those 3 will probably be out in other sets.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Here are my life lessons, for you to follow", October 9, 2008
The Cult of Cartman: Revelations. Very intrigued, I was. And while I am sure that this set is a spoof of the X-Files Revelations DVD set, I find this one particularily original and interesting. I will not bother to list the episodes in this set, since previous reviews include them already, though I will mention that some of these episodes are by far among the best South Park has to offer (Awesome-O, Super Fun Time, Eek A P**** and the two-parter Cartoon Wars). In addition to this, the box is designed to look like a book (Revelations, after all) and you get an Eric Theodore Cartman Society membership card (which expires in 2012, along with the rest of civilisations) and a nice sticker. And on top of that, each episode is introduced by a life lesson by Eric Cartman, which is very nice any funny ("Never take a joke too far, Hitler learned this one the hard way" would be an exemple of that).

Obviously, these are not good enough reasons to buy this set if you already have the season sets, since the card and sticker are negligable and the Life lessons by Eric Cartman will make their way to youtube soon. But being someone who does not want to spend too much money on one show (given the fact that I watch a lot of shows), I am more than satisfied with what this set has to offer.
