Now you can have cleaner, great tasting water at your convenience, fresh from your tap. Filtrete under-sink water filtration products are easy to install, with no mess, long lasting replacement filters that can be changed with just a twist. And using filtered water from home is an eco-friendly alternative to bottled water. You will need an adjustable wrench and a screw driver. Turn off the cold water supply and remove supply line to faucet using wrench. Install push-in fittings to faucet and cold water supply line. Install filter mounting bracket to area under sink. Install filter to mounting bracket. Cut tubing "to length" to fit between filter and supply line and from filter to faucet. Connect the tubing. Turn on water supply and enjoy cleaner, better tasting water.

In Vegas our water is super-chlorinated. Forcing us to use a brita for cooking and coffee. I investigated other inline filters, but most of them required a separate tap installed -- since we have a granite countertops, this seemed like an extreme fix. finally, here is a filter that simply sits in your cold water line -- giving you filtered water to your existing cold water tap. It works great -- the chlorine taste and smell is gone. It does slow down the cold water flow minimally. It is no big deal, and hardly noticeable. Installation was a snap. I would absolutely recommend it.

This filter is a snap to install and does a great job filtering water. If there's any drawback at all, it filters the water TOO well. The filtered water tastes "soft," rather more like distilled water than drinking water. It's a vast improvement over untreated Phoenix city tap water.

While this might be an excellent product, the installation instructions were not as clearly written as they could have been. I found a better set of instructions, including photos, from a random Google search. Nevertheless, after installing the product exactly as instructed, the connection to the water line popped off after about five minutes. Unfortunately, my cold water shut off valve wouldn't shut off, and I ended up having to cut off the water to my house until I could get it fixed.

I called a plumber for help in installing the unit, but I was told they would not connect hoses with push in fittings, citing their unreliablility.

I realize Filtrete air filters are outstanding products, but I think the company needs to rethink the design of this system and provide the more reliable screw fittings instead of the push in fittings. If a plumber won't use them, do-it-yourself-consumers like me shouldn't either.
