4.0 out of 5 stars slow and quirky but good, August 9, 2007
This charger will charge AAA, AA, C, D, and 9V Nickel Metal-Hydride batteries, and apparently of any brand, as long as they are NiMH type. Some notes about this charger:

-if you're charging AAA, AA, C, or D batteries, you must charge two or four at a time. It can charge 9V batteries one or two at a time.
-you should unplug the unit before inserting batteries and charging
-this charger charges slowly; most batteries will take half a day or more. If you think this is a bad thing, consider that fast charging shortens the lifespan of rechargeables.
-when it's finished charging, the red charging lights merely go out. It would be nice to have green lights to light up and show that charging is complete.

5.0 out of 5 stars real numbers, May 3, 2000
I've found these batteries to be WELL worth the money. They are comparable to a good Heavy Duty (Non-Alkaline) set of batteries. I have a program on my palm pilot called FPSUtil3.5 that allows me to track the battery power curve over time:

They don't hold a top end charge for very long: 85% after only 30 minutes But they really hold up well after that: 68% after 2 hrs & 15 minutes (10 minutes of nightlight) - 54% after 3 hrs - 40% after 5 hrs - 38% after 8 hrs (15 minutes of nightlight) - 28% after 10 hrs - 18% (battery warning)after 11 hrs 30 minutes

So, after 11 hours and 30 minutes of power on over a 6 day period with 25 minutes of nightlight use, they are ready for a 5 hour charge... NOT BAD, seeing as to how I'm supposed to be able to charge them 1000 times. I think I'll get my money out of them... ; )

3.0 out of 5 stars These batteries are 1200 mAH, June 22, 2000
By neurotome "neurotome" (San Francisco, CA) - See all my reviews
Bought these batteries to use with the Kodak battery charger (which ships with 4 AA batteries.) Plan was to use them for my digital camera.

They work, but unlike the batteries that ship with the Kodak (which are 1600 mAH-rated), these batteries are rated at only 1200 mAH. mAH means milli-amp hours and is a measure of the amount of power the battery can store and deliver before needing to be recharged.

So, they deliver only 75% of the life of the higher-rated batteries. My digital cam responds to this with a half-battery indicator, even when all 4 batteries are at full charge.
