Avoid eating, smoking or exertion before your measurement. Find time to relax in a quiet atmosphere for about ten minutes before taking a measurement. Position the cuff on your left arm and press start. The pump will automatically inflate the cuff with the increasing cuff pressure displayed on the screen. When the measurement is complete, the cuff will display your systolic, diastolic and pulse and the blue backlight will be illuminated. If an irregular heartbeat is detected, a symbol will appear on the screen with your blood pressure. If no button is pressed for one minute, the device will shut off automatically to preserve battery power.
