Given Ethiopia's relevance to Rastafarian culture, using dub to blend various musical styles from modern-day Ethiopia with a down-tempo reggae under-carriage just seems logical. The result is something that you have probably never experienced before. First of all, if you think Ethiopian music is like any other "African" music, you are mistaken. Ethiopia is the only country in all of Africa that was never colonized. This means they held on to their language, culture, and most importantly, sound.

Blend that with the Dub stylings of Colossus and you have a unique cultural artifact that's simultaneously new and yet soulful and deep. And how can you beat Amharic lyrics? That's the heart of Zion.

Only 4 songs, I thought I was buying the full length cd. I really wasn't disappointed in my lack of attention to detail, though. The final song is a piano solo and quite lovely--180 degrees from the other songs on the ep. I thoroughly enjoyed it all. Now I'm going to have to buy the full length.
