5.0 out of 5 stars Woohoo!!, October 4, 2008
By Steve Lojewski (Las Vegas, NV) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
It was starting to get a little scary there after two years of waiting for Season 5...Just give us a hint that Season 6 will see the light of day, and possibly, a complete series set and there'll be a lot of happy campers out there!

Truly, one show that can be viewed many times over and you'll laugh every time...

Reba has been one of the most consistently funny sitcoms I have ever had the pleasure of watching!!!

Enjoy!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Another great season, December 2, 2008
Amazingly, the writers managed to capture everything entertaining about the previous seasons and take it all even further, without rehash or boredom.

Episode Descriptions:

"Where There's Smoke" - Reba takes one of Cheyenne's anti-alcohol pills, and Cheyenne and Van have to keep Reba away from the champagne at an important dinner.

"Reba and the One" - Barbra Jean signs Reba up for an online dating service.

"As Is" - Van buys an "as is" house without Reba's knowledge. Barbra Jean has a crush on the operator from her car's navigation system.

"And God Created Van" - Van confesses that he no longer believes in God. Reba and Barbra Jean try to force Van to talk to a minister.

"No Good Deed" - When Reba and Jake take in a stray dog that survived Hurricane Katrina. Barbra Jean heads up the "Save the Dog" campaign and turns her house into a shelter for lost pets.

"Best Li'l Haunted House in Texas" - Reba's Halloween plans are thrown off course because everyone else is too busy. Van is jealous when Cheyenne starts spending time with her handsome sponsor, Frank.

"Have Your Cake" - Barbra Jean starts eating too much and gaining a lot of weight. Brock consults Reba for help with the delicate situation.

"Grannies Gone Wild" - Cheyenne declines Brock's offer to intern at his dental office to give makeovers. Barbra Jean annoys a judge.

"Invasion" - Barbra Jean leaves town to visit her brother. The episode focuses on BJ's brother, who mistakenly shows up on Reba's doorstep expecting to spend the holiday with his sister.

"Issues" - Reba and Van's boss insists they see the company's occupational therapist to work out some conflicts. Brock and Barbra Jean consult a sleep doctor with hilarious results.

"Brock's Got Stones" - Brock is diagnosed with kidney stones and Reba ends up caring for him. Cheyenne volunteers at a homeless shelter.

"Parenting with Puppets" - Reba doesn't approve of Barbra Jean's method of disciplining Henry. Brock and Van are mistaken for a couple when they spend their "guy time" at a day spa.

"Don't Mess with Taxes" - Brock informs Reba that the IRS is going to audit the last five years of their marriage. Cheyenne makes Van take part in her sociology project about a man's perspective on marriage.

"The Goodbye Guy" - Brock decides the only way he can pay off a huge debt is by selling his house and moving to Las Vegas.

"Money Blues" - Reba interferes with Van and Cheyenne's budgeting arrangements. Barbra Jean discovers Jake has started a small business at his school.

"The Trouble with Dr. Hunky" - Reba's flame moves back to town and tries to rekindle the relationship. Reba discovers she has more in common with Barbra Jean than she thought.

"Reba the Landlord" - In an effort to save Brock and Barbra Jean from losing their home, Reba and Van buy their house and rent it out to them.

"The Blonde Leading the Blind" - Reba secretly gets laser eye surgery. After surgery, thinking she's talking to Cheyenne, she says too much about Barbra Jean and finds she must make amends.

"Here We Go Again" - Reba, Brock, Cheyenne, Van, and Barbra Jean all end up at an anger management therapy session together. They confess some of the crazy things they have done to each other over the years.

"Red Alert" - New insurance saleswoman Barbra Jean wants Reba to be her first client. Van seeks out Brock's advice in coming up with a unique anniversary present for Cheyenne.

"Two Weddings and a Funeral" - Cheyenne and Van's second wedding ends in a break-up.

"Reba's Heart" - After collapsing at Van and Cheyenne's non-wedding, Reba is rushed to the hospital. Barbra Jean tries to help Reba feel better.

1.0 out of 5 stars The show is great - the DVD release is shocking, January 11, 2009
I've been looking forward to this one for a long while, but what a disappointment.

Season 5 of Reba was broadcast in widescreen, but the episodes are presented here in 4:3 - that is inexcusable. Add to that the squeezing of 22 episodes onto 2 discs. The discs are double-sided, with seven episodes on one side and four on the other. The picture quality on the seven-episode sides is dreadful. The set itself consists of the two discs and a flyer - no episode guide at all.

Fox really shouldn't have bothered if this is the best they can do. I'll stick with watching the broadcast versions I have.

1.0 out of 5 stars another brainless souless sitcom
I'm not the biggest country music fan in the world, in fact some of it makes me cringe, but Reba is great. Full of soul, great voice. This show is a dud though. I was surprised.
