5.0 out of 5 stars Instructions how to replace your broken screen..., May 1, 2009
By Jhon A. Padgett "JayP" (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This was a simple task that can be carried out by most anyone, I found the following instructions which greatly helped me decide to buy this screen and to fix the camera myself, I hope it helps you too. Read on or just follow the link posted by TonyB.

http://www.digitalcamera-hq.com/digital-cameras/kodak-easyshare-v1003_question.html?qid=17637

"This is what I did to replace the LCD - you undertake the repairs at your own risk and you accept that I am not responsible for any damage caused by your attempt to repair. Remove the battery from the camera before you start the repair.

To take the back of the camera carefully remove the small screws that are located around the sides of the camera - note which screw came from which hole as they differ in length. Some may not pop out when unscrewed so you have to carefully jiggle them out.

The back of the camera is a little tight to remove - I used a small flat blade to run slowly around the edge to carefully prise it open. Be careful you don't lose any of the rubber button/toggle switch interfaces which are set into the back of the case cover. The LCD rests on a rubber seal set inside the rear case. It is supposed to be a little tacky to hold the LCD but mine lost this tackiness when the old screen was gently pushed out.

The LCD screen is attached to the camera circuit board by way of a plastic film circuit strip. If you look carefully at the point it connects to the main camera board you can see a tiny hinged tab which acts as a clamp to hold the connector strip to the main board. Gently flick this up (from left to right looking down at the camera main board from the rear) and the strip just pulls free. You can now take the rear case from the camera body to replace the screen in comfort.

I took the four rubber tabs off the old LCD and superglued them to the new bare LCD in the same positions as the old one. I also put four small dabs of superglue in the corners of rubber seal where the LCD sits to hold it in place - don't overdo the application of glue.

It sets in seconds and when you are happy it won't pop out turn it over so that you can attempt to slip the connector strip end into the connector socket on the main camera board. When you are sure that it is sitting properly in the socket you can use a small flat blade screwdriver to flip the tiny hinged clamp over the strip end to lock it into place. At this point I reinserted the battery to test the screen and it worked HURRAY!. If it doesn't light up properly then the strip may not be in the socket properly or the new screen may be damaged. Try and re-set the connector strip before deciding the new screen is defective.

If everything is ok then carefully place the rear case cover into place on the camera body but note that you will have to carefully fold the film connector strip (fold it loosely or you will break the circuit in the strip) so that it sits under the LCD and doesn't interfere with the joystick/toggle switch to the right of the screen.

Replace the screws in the right order and test the camera again.

Hopefully that will have taken care of the broken screen.

Again carry out the repair at your own risk or have someone knowledgeable and confident to carry out the repair. Changing the screen yourself will undoubtedly invalidate the warranty..."

1.0 out of 5 stars this is a swindle, August 24, 2009
When I've received this product, I've send the screen to an authorized kodak tech repair, They report me that the screen provided is damage. I've reported this situation immediately to the sealer with any answer. I'm feeling swindled.
