Another five full episodes of sci-fi action await in Season 1, Volume 2 of the international animated series
Eon Kid. Volume 2 picks up where the previous left off, with feisty kid hero Marty, still in possession of the powerful Fist of Eon, fleeing from uber-heel the General while smart gal pal Ally and his loyal robot dog Buttons lend support and comic relief. Their journey brings them into contact with a rogues’ gallery of offbeat characters, include Orange Mama, who forces him to compete in her wrestling tournament, and Duke Von Rhymer, who also happens to be Ally’s adoptive stepfather. The action in
Eon Kid is plentiful, the story as elaborate as any in Asian-produced animation, and the CGI artwork bright and eye-catching; in short, it’s likely to capture the attention of younger, robot-loving viewers and older viewers with a taste for science fiction adventure (and muscular attention spans). Extras are unfortunately limited; the fifth episode on the set, “The Maxes Attack,” is billed as a bonus, and there’s also a downloadable mini-poster and previews of upcoming episodes.
