Product Description

Product Description
From the Manufacturer We've engineered these multifunctional units to quickly evolve from hand-held unit to monocular goggle or rifle scope. This unit's impressive magnification and light-gathering ability is great for night-vision photography, game-spotting, and surveillance. A longer objective lens (50mm) than either our 2x24 base model or the 3x42, this monocular gives you 4x visual magnification with just starlight. It operates by amplifying existing light using an electro-optical system. Its lenses have improved wavelength/contrast characteristics to help maximize light utilization. This scope does not require any artificial light source for quality viewing. However, we've added an infrared illuminator that enhances viewing in many applications. Our exclusive infrared lighting system provides the maximum possible infrared output, but allows the illuminator diode to pulse to protect the IR from burning out. This pulsing is invisible to the human eye, but it means that the illuminator can penetrate longer distances due to the quick energy bursts of the IR. The NVMT is ruggedly constructed, in a compact, lightweight, water-resistant composite housing. Its ergonomically-friendly body is rubber-armored and comes with a padded corduroy carrying case, carrying strap and innovative lens cover. The entire unit is self-contained and can operate for up to 20 hours on a CR 123R battery at temperatures from -22 degrees F to 104 degrees F. Two 1/4 mounts allow it to be used for a head mount or as a riflescope. It can even be coupled with an exclusive rifle mount/laser system that brings it right to the top of the newest generation of compact night vision riflescopes. Or adapted to digital camera use. The 4x50 NVMT is great anywhere you need to see in a dark setting -- game spotting, trekking, nature viewing, search and rescue, or hunting. 3 year manufacturer's warranty.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hmmm...better than nothing, November 19, 2008

It works well with the IR lighting, otherwise, it's not a great item. Good deal for the price. I would spend more and get the Gen 2 if you have it.
