5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the best, August 19, 2009
This review is from: Victorio Food & Vegetable Strainer
This is the best thing in the kitchen for home processing of fruits and vegetables. Bought it for tomatoes to make sauce and juice, but after reading booklet found out other uses such as raspberry juice (we use for homemade ice cream) I used to strain the berries through cheese cloth and clean pantyhose to get out seeds, but with this not only do i get clean juice but more of it as you can reprocess the "waste" several times. I would highly recommend this item. Save yourself the trouble and just buy the extra screens when you purchase the base kit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard to find, but worth it, April 18, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Victorio Food & Vegetable Strainer
My wife has used one of these for many years for all kinds of food preparation. Key examples include canning, jams, sauces, and juices. It's a crucial component in the process and a tremendous time-saver. For several years they were very hard to find. This year we were thrilled to be able to purchase one through Amazon for a good friend who loves to "put food by". She's now another believer. If you're serious about food preservation, you need one. Its very durable as well.

One warning though: Be prepared for juice and pulp to coat a wide area of your kitchen when you use it. It's not a design flaw, its just the nature of the process. So, if you're afraid of sticky messes, don't even think about it. However, if you're willing to do a little clean up, the quality of the food you feed your family will be drammatically improved.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a wide enough counter/table clamp, July 24, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Victorio Food & Vegetable Strainer
Maybe my counter is wider than average, but I couldn't clamp it to the counter. My dining room table was also too wide for it. I ended up using a grooming table (after cleaning it, of course!) Had I not had a grooming table, it would have been a waste of money since I couldn't attach it to anything in my home. Also, it was easy enough to use but very difficult to take apart once used.
