Rick & Steve, the ongoing saga of "the happiest gay couple in all the world" as depicted by animated Playmobil-esque action figures, revels in skewering gay stereotypes, political correctness, and good taste--and is all the funnier for it. The second season opens with a musical homage to sperm as Dana, the butch half of a lesbian couple, lies in a hospital bed, waiting to give birth... but whether the father is Rick or Steve will be the plot engine for much of the season. But that's hardly all the writers have on their minds; this season is a smorgasbord of swift, sharp satire. Each whirlwind episode squeezes in jabs at queer politics (from excessive inclusivity to racial guilt), pop culture (from Harry Potter to Desperate Housewives), social trends (from Internet fame to illegal immigrants), and sheer absurdism (a revision of The Wizard of Oz featuring French-Canadian mimes instead of winged monkeys). The characters are better realized than in 90% of the live-action sitcoms out there, the stories are packed with unpredictable turns, and the animation is bright and charming. You'll be disappointed there are only eight episodes--fortunately, there's a handful of bonus shorts and interviews with cast members (like Queer as Folk's Peter Paige and stand-up Margaret Cho, who plays the only straight person in the gay ghetto of West Lahunga Beach) and guest stars (like celebrity-mocking blogger Perez Hilton--who played himself in an episode where twink Evan puts a video of Dana's vagina on YouTube and gets a billion hits). Anyone, gay or straight, who enjoys the sardonic wit of certain better-known animated comedies should do him- or herself a favor and check out Rick & Steve. --Bret Fetzer

I discovered the first season of Rick and Steve during my first year of law school, and it helped keep me sane and amused. While the Second Season does not stand up quite as well upon repeat viewings as the first, it is still utterly delightful. I highly recommend it as an entertaining diversion for people who enjoy gayness and hilarity.

I just finished watching season two of "Rick and Steve" and I am probably a shade of red as I write this. I am still amazed that a bunch of plastic dolls can be so filthy. The second season consists of eight new episodes with something to offend everyone in each episode. Now that does not mean that this is not funny--it is hilarious in a very off-color way.
Let's remember our characters; There is Rick, the brainy bottom and Steve the macho brawny top. Dana is still a lesbian and still pregnant with Rick's baby who is supposed to be a boy named Dick but in actuality is a girl named Dixie. We get a peek into Steve's trick box and we have a very funny parody/satire of "The Wizard of Oz". We get to visit the straight underground of San Francisco and we deal with Lesbian bed death. Parents also make an appearance this season and we still with whether or not gay men and lesbians will ever get along. The big question however is the name of Dixie's father and why is it that whenever Dixie is around strange things happen?
We have great voices and several guest cameo appearances--Wilson Cruz, Jessica-Snow Wilson, Alan Cumming, Taylor M. Dooley, Peter Paige, Will Matthews, Lance Bass, RuPaul, Margaret Cho, Andy Dick, Jennifer Coolidge, Robert Gant, Mark Hamil, Jason Lewis, Kimberly Locke, Alec Mapa, Lorna Luft, Tori Spelling. Darryl Stevens, George Takei and Bruce Vilanch.
Season Two like Season One is loaded with extras including three bonus episodes, cast interviews and as the jewel box says "more gay crap".

Shipping didn't waste packaging by putting more than needed. The DVD was in great condition. I'd shop from them again any day.
