This takes female empowerment to a whole new level! I thoght the collection was really well written and very sexy. There are about, I think, nineteen total stories in this anthology and I was hard pressed to find one I didn't like--unusual for an erotica anthology of this size. So, if you are looking for a fun ride, one that might just make you lose a bit of inhibition along the way, I'd say you can't go wrong wtih "Girls on Top," as well as Husband Swap and Roughing It: Two Dirty Stories.

Let me start off in my own defense--yes, I am a man reviewing women's erotica and I feel qualified to do so. I love erotica and I love literature so despite my gender I know what to look for in books. I am glad to say that "Girls on Top" has it all and that is due to the discriminating taste of its editor Violet Blue. She obviously is aware of what her audience wants and she knows erotica. The stories are about women who approach sexual awakening and she gives us stories that are truly erotic. When a woman takes control she can determine her own level of eroticism and we have several stories here that give women the edge. Some of the stories really push the borders between erotica and pornography and no, they are not the same. Erotica require some literary skill while pornography is purely hedonistic.
In this collection inhibitions are thrown to the wind and the stories are contemporary and realistic.
Authors include B.J. Franklin, Remittance Girl, Anastasia Mavromatics, Layla Briar, Elizabeth Calvin, Anais Morten, Maddy Stuart and others for a total of 19 writers and an interesting introduction by the editor.

Yep, I'm a soccer mom who loves a good erotic read and this one is great. Why not treat yourself to something truly steamy ladies? The short story format means you don't have to devote a lot of time to fully enjoy this book. There is something in here for everyone's taste, so you can skip around if you like somethings better than others. But keep an open mind. You might be suprised at what you find erotic once you're finished!
