5.0 out of 5 stars Works exactly as intended., May 5, 2009
I ordered this card to bring my PC up to par for Vista Media center and Aero interface. It has exceeded my expectations. It brought my video ranking to 3.0 making my computer a respectable gaming system even with a single core processor. It also brought my Aero ranking to a 2.6 making it respectable for high end applications, which I will never use. HiDef video plays flawlessly. I am a very happy customer.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Video card saved my computer!, August 5, 2009
By Pete Strauss (New Jersey) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
My Dell computer (which I bought in 2003) began having issues. Specifically there were green lines all over the monitor which made it impossible to go online or use the computer for that matter. I brought it in to the Geek Squad at my local Best buy and he pulled out the video card and told me it was burned out and I needed to replace it. I am not a computer person but I asked him to show me how to replace the card (it was very easy). I ordered this video card from amazon b/c it was economical (cheap). I use my computer to check email, surf the net, download pics, etc...nothing too fancy. I don't play video games that apparently require a much more expensive video card. In any case, I put the card in, turned the computer on and voila...good as new. All for $45! I was prepared to spend $2,000 on a new computer so needless to say I was thrilled that this inexpensive fix got us back online. The picture is better than new since technology has come a long way since 2003. I hope this is helpful information to someone out there like me having a similar issue. Good Luck!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well with Linux and KDE4.2, April 22, 2009
By Francis Larson (Kindred, ND) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I purchased this card to use in a Pentium4 D computer with an AGP 8x slot, with the intention of getting accelerated openGL and compositing effects at 1680x1050, in KDE 4. It worked. The installation was straight forward and it has worked as it should for 3 weeks now. I have not tried the Windows drivers as I do not use Windows on this computer. This is a good basic AGP video card. If that is what you need do not hesitate to buy it.
