Biting fleas are more than just a nuisance for your dog. Left unchecked, they can cause serious disorders such as flea allergy dermatitis, secondary skin infections, tapeworms, and even anemia. This topical flea treatment lets you stop fleas before they become a problem. Used just once a month, it begins working in minutes, killing 98 to 100 percent of the fleas on dogs within 12 hours and 99 percent of flea larvae within 20 minutes. The dead fleas can't lay eggs, and the dead larvae can't hatch, breaking the flea's life cycle and halting the infestation in its tracks. Any new fleas your dog then encounters are killed within two hours, preventing re-infestation for as long as four weeks. In fact, Advantage is so effective at breaking the flea's life cycle there's no need to treat your dog's environment. Applied before the start of flea season, it helps keep your dog from becoming infested in the first place. Used year-round, it prevents fleas from over-wintering in your home to feast on your dog next season. Gentle enough for puppies as young as seven weeks, Advantage is water-resistant and continues to work while your dog swims or is bathed. This package includes six pre-measured doses for dogs 11 to 20 pounds in easy-to-use applicator tubes. For safety, keep out of the reach of children, and read all warnings and instructions carefully.

Safety Information
Hazards to humans: Causes eye irritation. Harmful if swallowed. Do not get in eyes or on clothing. Avoid contact with skin. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and warm water after handling. Keep out of reach of children. Do not contaminate water, food, or feed by storage and disposal.

Hazards to domestic animals: For external use only. Do not use on puppies under seven weeks of age. Individual sensitivities, while rare, may occur after using any pesticide product. Pets may experience some temporary irritation at the site of product application. If signs persist, or become more severe within a few days of application, consult a veterinarian immediately. Certain medications can interact with pesticides. Consult a veterinarian before using on medicated, debilitated, or aged animals. First Aid
If in eyes: Hold eyelids open and flush with plenty of water. Get medical attention if irritation persists.
If swallowed: call a physician or Poison Control Center.
If on skin: wash with plenty of soap and water.

We have three dogs & two cats & occasionally a few hundred if not thousand fleas. We use different doses to cover the whole herd.
We used Advantage when we lived in TX & it worked great. Then we moved to MO, got a new vet who sold Frontline in bulk & gave one free when you bought four. He would just fill syringes with a prescribed amout & put those in a medicine bottle. We thought, sure, whats the difference & went on as usual.
The frontline is a good product & we couldnt really tell any difference so we just didnt think anymore about it.
But after a few months one of our dogs started to have allergic reactions to fleas.
For reasons I wont go into here, we switched Vets. Our new Vet didnt sell Frontline in bulk so we purchased the Advantage from her that came directly from the maker, Bayer.
Wow, what a difference! I put in on the whole crew at 8 am & by noon the scratching & biting was almost non existent. I did a search for fleas & the ones I did find were either dead or moving so slowly they were easy to catch & kill. Two days later we have no fleas.
Now I should add two things here.
First, I also treated my lawn with a 10 lb bag of flea, tick & ant killer which Im sure helped. At least as far as re-infestation is concerned.
Second, I suspect that the bulk Frontline that I was purchasing may have been weakened by age or the way it was stored by the Vet & transferred to me in syringes. So I would suggest that anyone thinking about purchasing in this way, think again.
Lastly, my wife & I are considering using Advantage & Frontline both. Possibly switching them every other month in hopes of keeping the little buggers from developing resistance. I dont know if that will help but it couldnt hurt.

This is a really, really Great product. It worked great on my Westie. She is very active outdoors, we walk to parks, trails in the woods, and she has no fleas nor ticks ! It didn't surprise me because she had gotten No Fleas Nor Ticks last Summer either.
Highly recommend it, couldn't recommend it enough for a dog who spends lots of time outdoors.

Our outdoor area is suffering through a major flea infestation. Having tried frontline without success, we waited some time before trying Advantage. Worked like a charm.
