Product Description

Product Description

The Sharx Security SCXSC200 card is a new generation 4 channel audio / video capture card for desktop PCs. The included SecurityCenter software allows viewing and recording of up to 4 security cameras on your computer, with or without motion detection. The included SecurityPlayer software allows remote internet access. Unlike SCXMC104 this Techwell 6805 based card also captures one channel of audio and comes with Microsoft WHQL certified Windows drivers which allow use with third party DVR software such as BlueIris and LuxRiot, as well as Media Players and Encoders like the open source VLC or Microsoft's free Windows Media Encoder. Video quality is excellent on this card. A single channel can be captured at near DVD quality with D1 resolution (720 x 480) and a full 30 frames per second. When 4 channels are in use the frame rate drops due to the switching between channels. If you need 4 channels at full 30 fps each, consider our SCXSC300 card which supports 16 switched or 4 full motion video inputs. If you do not have a free PCI slot in your desktop computer consider our SCXSC104LUSB 4 channel USB 2.0 DVR system. If needed, RCA/BNC adapters or video cables are available separately and not included. Card ships in OEM white box with manual on CD. Note: Now supported on all versions of XP and Vista including both 32 bit and 64 bit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sharx Security SCXSC200 4 Channel Digital Video Recorder, August 26, 2009
I purchased the Sharx SCXSC200 DVR to record video from my home alarm system cameras. I wanted a system that could record about 7 days of video before it over wrote the video files. The DVR card was installed in a computer close to where my alarm system was located. That computer was connected through my home network to another computer where I wanted to monitor the video from my cameras. Both of my computers use the Vista (32-bit) OS. The DVR card comes with a watchdog cable that allows the DVR card to reset the computer if there is a power outage etc. Software installation was easy, although I did have to ask for help with the settings for the firewalls for the two computers. The technical support people were great. I received an answer to my questions the next day. Having access to the live and recorded video on a 2nd computer is very convenient. This is a good product for the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars i like the customer service from this company, June 11, 2009
when i bought the cameras with a receiver from this company, i did not see a good use from these products until i bought the same brand-PCE Digital Video REcorder DVR and Remote internet Access Card with Windows Driver and Software. At first, we were confused, but when i contacted the company and got a very good customer service, we made the products work. For most people, we are not sure what to get. When i recommend these products to my friend, he was not sure how to install them. It will be great that the products come with clear instructions and what people should get for the whole system.

1.0 out of 5 stars Questionable Business Practices at Amazon & SecureCam, September 25, 2009
This is a warning to anyone considering doing business with this & other Amazon retailers who apparently have started trying to take advantage of unwitting buyers who give them half a chance.

I don't own this product, but was considering buying it, when something I've had happen several times recently with items in my Amazon cart happened again...I placed an item listed at a certain price into my cart, (this time, Sharx Security SCXSC200 4 Channel PCI Digital Video Recorder DVR and Remote Internet Access Card with Windows Driver and Software - $59.95), and over night, before I can complete my research regarding the fitness of the item for my needs, the price mysteriously increases (to $99.95 - a >>> 67% <<< increase!!!!).

This has happened enough on several different items in the recent past that my suspicions of some sort of trickery on the part of certain Amazon retailers are all but confirmed. If those retailers think they're helping their business by using these methods, they are more than a little mistaken. I for one will NOT do business with a retailer who uses this type of trickery, and I hope this will alert enough unsuspecting buyers that this practice is becoming more prevalent.

I'm eagerly awaiting SecureCam's response & explanation. I would hope the price of this item would be returned to the price it was when I originally placed it in my cart yesterday, as I had since decided to buy it.

Amazon, these types of practices can only serve to hurt your reputation, and make customers like myself afraid to do business on your website. If you have not been knowingly allowing this sort of thing to happen, you have now been informed. Please put a stop to it immediately!

Caveat Emptor!
