The Silhouette is a digital cutting tool for personal use. Similar to the functioning of a home printer, it cuts paper and other materials like vinyl with a blade instead of printing onto it. The machine comes with interactive computer software that helps you customize words, phrases and other digital designs that you want to cut. It also allows you to add to your digital design library by linking to our Silhouette Online Store. There you can select, purchase and download individual designs that you want 24 hours a day.

Magic Gadget if you are addicted to card making or scrap booking. Easy to use with loads of free files on the internet, although necessary blades and cutting mats for it that will need replacing frequently are very hard to find.
If you live in the UK, buy it from the UK as I made the mistake of getting mine for USA. Waited for ages to arrive, the plug was the wrong sort and I had to pay £30 VAT

This cutter is extremely hard to use. It is has too many settings that you must wade through before you get to the cutting. If you just want to cut shapes, buy something self contained. If you want to creat a work of art to hang in an art gallery, go ahead and buy it. Just be prepared to spend hours trying to figure it out.
I consider myself fairly knowledgable when it comes to computers, and I was completely confused. I even work with a computer driven stencil machine at work.
