This is tired, just plain ol' tired !!, October 29, 2009
I'm a diehard Brian fan, so there was no question about purchasing this CD, but this was boring, weak, tired. What was that background drivel on Next 2U? Where's the music, the voice? Only song I like is While. Sorry, Brian, come correct next time, right down to spelling. I can't stand this internet shorthand used today, guess it appeals to the younger crowd, but it's tacky, along with this CD !!

Brian McKnight - Evolution Of A Man, October 28, 2009
This is a review that i am not even going to really waste my time on. Honestly, i have always given Brian McKnight a chance, i have bought all of his albums except his first one, but every single time he lets me down. The man's got a fantastic voice, and has SOME good songs (Anytime, 6,8,12, Find Myself In U), but all be damned if he will ever give us a truly good album. The only album he has made that's actually worth listening to is Ten. And that's actually a really good album. But every single one of his other 10 albums are boring and bland. And its exactly the same on Evolution of a Man. There was literally two good songs on this album, one being the mid tempo almost Timbalandish sounding "Miss U" and the babymaker "Just A Little Bit". Every other track is boring and bland like all of his other albums besides Ten. I am sorry, but this is the last time i will be purchasing a Brian McKnight album. I will download it next time, and if its worth the ten bucks, i will go buy it... but i highly doubt that will happen. Brian McKnight is just one of those artist's who has all the talent in the world, he just doesn't know how to translate that into a good, exciting album. And i think the biggest reason that is, is because he's really not that good of a producer, and he produces all of his albums most of the time. I'm sorry guys, but he really let me down big time with this album, and i have given this dude chance after chance and he's given me nothing...My Mom loves Brian McKnight though!!! LOL But that pretty much explains what his music is good for!

Different Label, Same Brian, Good Album!, October 27, 2009
I have been looking forward to this album since I heard it was coming out. It got pushed back a few times but its finally here. I saw the album cover before I saw the track listing I was about to be depressed because I thought it a gospel album(I have nothing against gospel just tired of everyone thinking they have to do a gospel album)
So I have listened to this cd 3 times continiously and I really like it. This album is what I was expecting Brian to put out. After I heard the first single "What I've Been Waiting For" I had a feeling(hope) that he kept the album to his usual style. I loved all songs on here apart from "Next 2 U" and "While". I didn't feel "Next 2 U" because I felt its trying to be too mainstream. "While" has this raggae/jazzy vibe to it and it didn't think that mix worked that well.
After 3 listens my favourite tracks are "Another You", "Always Be My Baby" & "Never Say Goodbye". Again all tracks are good and I didn't have to skip any songs but those 3 stuck in my mind.
Brian's regular fans will love this album and be happy because he's stuck to what he does best sing ballads and very well. I'm glad he avoided jams featuring rappers because that doesn't work and I hated his previous efforts.
This album will definitely not bring new fans because its just Brian being Brian. I don't think he got any new fans since Back At One as his album have been consistently the same style. As good as I think this album is, it will not be marketed much if at all, again the last time this was done was Back At One. Good thing he has a radio show now and he can plug this album as much as he wants.
Overall great effort from Brian definitely worth the $10. Now lets see what you do with Niko and Brian Jr. "McKnight" album. eric!
