What is going on with these lobster fishermen is seriously wrong. The conditions in which they exist, the level of their poverty, the lack of security in their work, the meager wages, but most of all the dangers of their chosen profession. As a documentary is a powerful statement, really gritty and sad. If it wasn't for documentaries such as these, I would have never know of the dire predicament these individuals and their families exist on a daily basis. 4 Stars.

Simply put, this is a well-crafted documentary on a topic most of us are probably woefully unaware of. The plight of the lobster divers is movingly and powerfully depicted, but the film never descends into preaching or simplistic finger pointing. The cinematography and sound are excellent and, at an hour, the film's length is perfect for keeping the viewer's attention while exposing the complexities of the underlying story. A must-see not only for those who want to be responsible consumers, well-informed travelers, or compassionate global citizens, but also for those looking for an interesting story told well. I'm glad I purchased it.

A way of life for these villagers is wonderfully exposed through this film.

Its sad, yet its also a wake up call to those who feel compassion for people, and the environment.
