My husband wanted to watch this. I did not. These sorts of "silly" comedies are not my cup of tea. See? Just by using that cliché, you can see I have a conservative sense of humor. My husband, like most men, love the 3 Stooges and low-brow humor. That being said, I have to be honest that as I was walking through the living room while this movie was on, the dialog caught my attention. Gee ... That was sort of funny. I slowed my pace and heard something else that made me smile. Me? Amused by a Will Ferrell flick? It was about half away through and I sat to watch a little bit. I laughed. Some funny, silly dialog. Some adolescent humor to be sure, some over the top offensive/gross, and I did leave the room during the white supremacist segment (hate that type), but returned to finish the film. So I sort of got over myself, because Kevin Hart was funny, ditto Ferrell - mostly. Funny premise. I guess I could benefit from being a tiny bit more open minded.... Funny movie.

It was too vulgar for me.

First off, let me say I am a huge fan of both actors, but this movie didn't bring out their best. The vulgarity in this movie was over the top ridiculous. I am by no means a prude, but this is not a movie for kids under 16. It was just too much. There were some funny parts, but over all, I would not recommend this movie to anyone.

Funniest movie I've seen in a while

This one of the funniest movies I have seen in a long time. Sure, the humor might not be for everyone, but if you think shows like Family Guy are funny, you will probably like this movie. The story is funny and the acting is top notch. Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart play wonderfully off each other. I will definitely be buying this one.

Two of comedys best come together for laugh out loud funny.
As far as the negative reviews, why would you watch it in the first place. A child would have more common sense. Of course it's not family friendly...have you never seen either of their movies?? Their ability to cross that uncomfortable line is what made their careers.
I can't imagine what you thought it would be based on the trailers alone. Silly people who take life too seriously should stick to Nicholas Sparks movies! I thought it was hilarious and will buy the disk. And for those who called this racist, lighten up! The movie knocked down your average stereotypical, bi-racial assumptions. It was meant to be funny, not a Martin Luther King speech so get over yourself. They obviously did! I swear people have lost all common sense!!

Had some funny moments but it's ferrell doing Ferrell and hart is riding out his 15 mins of fame in glorious fashion. He's funny in his own way but it often comes out as a watered down Chris Rock meets Chris tucker meets a younger Eddie Murphy. Watcg if your a fan of Will/Kevin but don't expect a cinematic masterpiece comedy like wedding crashers. It's a good rent. Also will ferrell should tone down the. Gross stuff.

Comedy awesomeness

This is a great movie. The movie got to us in perfect condition and quick. Kevin Hard is always great to watch, and teamed with Will Ferrel is just that much better. I'd highly recommend this movie, even to those who don't normally like Will Ferrell as this comedy is a bit more grown up than his normally is.

Edit: I absolutely love this movie. The more I watch it, the more I find I love about it. Kevin Hard is hilarious enough, but adding Will Ferrell in is just a great addition. This movie belongs in most comedy lovers' collections.

In case you don't know, this movie is about Will Ferrell, who works as a big wig investor in the stock market, who gets framed for embezzlement. He is a standard rich person that's not too in touch with the world (shown by many things he does, one of which, that he just assumes all black people have been to jail and know the ropes for surviving, the main premise of the movie). When he finds out he is going to go to jail, he ends up recruiting Kevin Hart, who is about as far from a hardened criminal as can be, to teach him the ropes on how to survive.

This movie does explore a lot of racial assumptions and stereotypes and pokes fun at them. Kevin Hart is histerical in his attempts to help Will Ferrell "get hard" before he goes to jail.

I would highly recomment this. Even one of our good friends who hates Will Ferrell really enjoyed this movie when we watched it the other day.

"Let me see your mad dog face"-- LoL

Get Hard (2015) is much better than I originally though it would be. I am skeptical when it comes to Hollywood made comedies. Before I invest my time into watching a film, I like to read a little about it or hear positive/negative reviews about it (I actually follow my instinct and the more people bash the film, the more willing I am to watch it, I tend to not like what masses of people like to see in movie theaters).

As far as I am concerned, Get Hard works, it works as a comedy. I think it is well acted out, by both Ferrell and Hart. Both comedians present good mutual chemistry on the screen and are on the top of their acting streak. What's more, the storyline is original. It is one of those movies also where stereotypes of American white/black races are exposed. I don't know if the film is politically correct made, but I do know that it has lots funny moments,...I especially recommend seeing this one after a smoking-session :)
