a fine first effort

The first book of a promising new author. The characters are well developed and unusual. The secondary characters are as well written as the hero. The story line is deep and understandable from an understandable future. All in all, read the book..
P.S. Wonder if there is going to be a sequel? Too many first timers either take several years to write the second book, if they ever write a second book..

Fun read.

I'm not often moved to review a book. This one merits your time. If you are on the fence, read it. Outstanding for an early work. I would love to read further adventures of this crew and this universe.

Rollicking SF adventure with a serious side

This book was a real find. It's has well-drawn characters and rip-roaring adventures with massive consequences. But Mr Lizzi also makes some important points (using a fairly obvious metaphor, which he even calls out). Highly recommended.

A great sci-fi mystery/adventure!

This is a fantastic sci-fi space travel mystery, that feels like a cross between David Weber's Honor Harrington novels and James S.A.Corey, not from a plot perspective, but how enjoyable it is to read. The characters are developed and the technology all seems like a logical extension of today's science headlines. It is quite believable, and the facts the the tech isn't perfected yet feels very real.

A must-read!

I very much enjoyed reading this book. It was a interesting with a new world found. I would like to see this story continue since it ended just after the first journey. These are good characters and well developed. Good Job!!

Good plot, well rounded characters, nice tie up at the end (which can be the end or a springboard for a series). The only reason I did not give it five stars is while you are drawn into the story, you are not emotionally drawn in, just intellectually.

You need help finding someone in interstellar space.

A story about how a brilliant man who invented an ftl drive inadvertently caused earth govs to collapse,gets lost in space will cause a niece to look for him.
