Well, B-movie houses needed something, anything, to be shown in them, and that's why this 1971 exercise in misogyny exists. Pat Priest, who spends most of the movie being tied up, drugged, and caged by her mad scientist husband, and assaulted by the two-headed monster he creates, gets second billing to deranged surgeon Bruce Dern, but it's clearly Priest and her wardrobe of revealing outfits that must've put asses in grindhouse seats.

This Kino Lorber release features a pristine print, and an optional RiffTrax commentary that'll probably seal the deal for most viewers. It's a solid, wisecracking session by Mike, Kevin, and Bill, who, if they don't quite make this turkey watchable, do make its moral ugliness a lot easier to laugh at. It's rated R for some early-'70s movie violence, and several attempted rape scenes, but there's no nudity or rough language -- it's a relatively clean exploitation film, offensive only in its treatment of women, lab animals, and the viewer's intelligence.

This incredibly strange movie is made watchable by the inspired riffing of the Rifftrax trio: Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett. Bruce Dern plays Dr. Roger Girard, while his assistant Max is played by Berry Kroeger. They are experimenting with grafting a second head onto the bodies of several animals, for some altruistic reasons. Through a series of violent events, they graft the head of maniacal murderer Manuel Cass, played by Albert Cole, onto the body of Danny Norton, played by John Bloom. Danny is a mentally challenged, gentle giant. Not surprisingly, Manuel has the dominant personality, controlling the body, and forcing it to commit violent acts. And speaking of bodies, it's worth the price of the DVD to see a young Pat Priest (TV's Marilyn Munster) sitting poolside, wearing a skimpy bikini! Everything about this bizarre film screams seventies - the music, the clothes, the furniture, and the bright colors. The colors are especially vivid in this Blu-ray version. The Rifftrax trio are in awe of the acting ability of the late Casey Kasem, who plays Dr. Ken Anderson in this movie. As Casey would say, "Keep your feet on the ground, keep reaching for the stars, and buy the Blu-ray DVD of "The Incredible 2-Headed Transplant" with Rifftrax commentary. You’ll be glad you did."

I love The Incredible Two-Headed Transplant! It is a true drive-in classic! It is my favorite of the two "2 head" drive-in films that came out back in the seventies. The other one was called The Thing With Two Heads.
The Incredible Two-Headed Transplant, starred Bruce Dern, in one of his first roles, as a physician, fired from his previous job, because of his controversial experiments. It also has Casey Kasum (Yup, the American Top 40 host) starring as Bruce Dern's best friend.
In this film, Dern is experimenting with head transplants. He starts out by adding the extra head to various creature's bodies. Of course, a situation arises, and he has the opportunity to try it on a human host. In this case, he adds the head of a homicidal maniac onto the body of a huge man, with the mind of a child, due to an accident at birth. Almost immediately, the craziness begins, with the crazy head, in charge of one side of the body, killing everyone he runs into, laughing and grinning, while the other head, of the simpleton, keeps looking confused, and saying "No...No....No". Great stuff!
I highly recommend buying "The Incredible Two-Headed Transplant", and I suggest that you also buy "The Thing With Two Heads", starring Rosey Grier, and also Ray Milland as a bigot whose head is attached onto the body of black convict, Grier. A perfect double feature of pure 1970's drive-in movie fun!

The only thing that made this movie interesting were the actors. When I saw Kasey Kasem's name pop up I couldn't wait to see him. I had no idea he starred in movies before his top 40 fame. He really wasn't a bad actor either. It was nice to see that Pat Priest had aged well too after her Munster's fame. She looked good and teased us a bit by almost taking off her clothes..Being an 'R' rated film I thought we might have a chance but it was not meant to be. Bruce Dern put in a decent acting performance.

I was expecting the movie to be ridiculous and it didn't disappoint. Even taking into account what the movie was, it still wasn't that good. I was expecting to at least laugh a few times but it didn't provide much in the way of humor. They director actually took this movie seriously, which is a good thing but when you have a weak script like this one, I'd suggest putting some humor in it even if it's black humor.

The blu-ray transfer was OK but nothing extraordinary. It wasn't much better than some of it's Midnite Movie counterparts. I didn't listen to the RiffTrax option. I probably should but i just don't feel like sitting through this movie again.

The two headed effect was not good, as expected. On close-ups you had one of the actors resting his head on the other's shoulder and for distance shots they attached a phony looking head that wobbled and around.

Ultimately it just wasn't a very entertaining movie any way you look at.

I'd pass on this one or get Midnite Movies version with the second 2 headed movie. I'm sure if Kasey was still around he'd tell you that this movie won't make his top 40 drive-in movies.
