This was a pretty good little 80s horror flick .It definitely held my interest (even had a car chase) and probably the best of the "killer hand " movies ive ever seen ,and ive seen em all , the next best would have to be "The hand" by Oliver Stone . If you love 80s horror like i do pick this one up.

I saw this, for the first time, on USA's Saturday Nightmares in the late 1980s. It was creepy to me back then and it was an edited version at that.
I kept waiting for a DVD edition to come out and it paid off. The transfer to Blu-ray is stunning. Of course, now that I am older this movie is actually cheesy. I felt the same way when they also released "Deadly Eyes" AKA "Rats" AKA "Night Eyes". It scared the crap out of me then but now it's like "What was I so scared of"? If you want a classic low budget horror movie, go for it.

This is probably going to be one of those hate it or love it films. Its not great by any means but for me it falls under the "so bad its good" category. The films stars Samantha Eggar (from David Cronenberg's The Brood). Basic plot is a woman teams up with a priest to try & stop a demonic hand that possesses & kills people, also kills to protect itself. Once the hand is cut off it can go from person to person. The effects range from ok to decent but even those aren't all that special. Acting is ok also. Some of what happens on screen is sometimes so out there it was hard for me not to at least find some enjoyment out of it. Special features include alternate international version Macabra, trailers, interviews, gallery. If you like 80s cheese in your horror films or just enjoy so bad its good type horror films give Demoind a try.

Demonoid: Messenger of Death (1981) is certainly not horror cinema at its best, but it's the kind of film I enjoy. There are a surprising degree of horror films built on the proposition that the human hand can act individually (usually to annihilate people) if severed from the body or if surgically attached to a new body. In a Mexican mine, some ancient demon possesses the left hand of a woman. Stuart Whitman and Samantha Eggar in the present, battle against that ancient bloodthirsty demon which possesses people's left hands.

The Mexican director showed great imagination with an obviously low budget. A very interesting horror film, low production values aside.

The picture is awesome. Yet it is more like Ideal Hands and Evil Dead 2 yet more horror then comdey..because this. just because they released this movie from an ancient time. I remember wacthing it as a kid it was one of those movies I did not know if I saw it or not I believe the front cover is way great then the movie yet it gets 5 for all I wrote.

DEMONOID concerns a demonized left hand that creeps, crawls, leaps, and kills! It also possesses those it chooses, and uses them to further its agenda of eeevil! Samantha Eggar (A NAME FOR EVIL, THE BROOD) tracks the horrid hand, after it destroys her husband. Stuart Whitman (NIGHT OF THE LEPUS) plays a priest w/ all of the enthusiasm of soggy communion wafers. DEMONOID is much maligned (some of it deserved), but is still better than a lot of what passed for "horror" in the 80s! Never a dvd release? Why not??...

demonoid is such a movie its so bad but good in a sense if you looking fore a gore fest there's very little of that at all in demonoid if you seen the hand staring michael cain that is this movie pretty much in a nutshell....nothing innovative at all only redeeming factor is that at the end their a nice twist in the movie.
