I bought this Barbie for my 3 1/2 year old daughter, who loves the Wizard of Oz. I'm glad I did and so is she! Really though, I don't suggest purchasing this doll for a child any or much younger than my daughter. Unlike most Barbies, there are even more pieces to choke on and to lose with beautiful Glinda.Gracie lost Glinda's shoes almost immediately after opening her, which is common in our home, anyway. Next her crown got lost and finally her wand, well half of her wand (it's in two pieces for some reason) got lost, which doesn't make this Barbie much of a Glinda, does it? The doll itself is a beauty though! Her hair is thick and has stayed relatively in place. Her gown is stunning and the plastic accessories are nice. I doubt "Barbie" needs to be detailed. What's unique though is that this Glinda Barbie emits phrases that sound just like Glinda of the movie. There is a hidden button located on the base of her back to cause this sound. Alternatively, her right arm can be lifted and used as a lever to create this same effect. I recommend Barbie as Glinda for Barbie and for Wizard of Oz collectors and as a unique Barbie for a little girl. Be cautioned however, there are small pieces which are choking hazards. Additionally, there are easy to lose pieces, which are crucial to the "Glinda" character, so this doll might not be your first choice for a very little child. The little girl in me loves Glinda!
