From School Library Journal
Grade 4 Up-These books have attractive covers, nice layouts, and good page design. Field Hockey and Volleyball emphasize the history and development of the sports, but have a chapter on the basics of playing, including rules. The last chapter of Volleyball highlights several current superstars, but this list is bound to be outdated quickly. Figure Skating is by far the least necessary of the three. There are many better descriptions and overviews of the sport and its stars, including Michael Boo's The Story of Figure Skating (Morrow, 1998). The main drawback is that there are only 20 photos in each title and they're all in black and white.
