Book Description
James Callahan, now retired from the Boston police force, has no trouble setting aside his new career as an artist when an old college friend calls for help to find his missing teenage daughter. Reliving the agony he experienced a year ago when his own daughter, Mandy, was kidnapped, Callahan quickly discovers the quiet little town of Northview is a hotbed of secrets.

After finding himself falsely accused of a crime and following clues that lead to a haunted house and a witch's circle, Callahan and his trusted friend, B.J., uncover a murder and other mysterious events before their investigation finally draws to a stunning conclusion.

About the Author
Al Blanchard is the author of numerous short stories and two mystery series. Mystery writer William Tapply stated Blanchard's first novel, Murder at Walden Pond, was "an intriguing puzzle and an insightful commentary on human nature."

Blanchard has lived his entire life in Massachusetts. He has traveled widely, once driving across the United States on Route Twenty. He has visited Europe numerous times. Before becoming a full-time writer Al owned an art gallery, a music store, a restaurant, taught computer literacy to blind adults and geography to seventh graders in a public school. Currently he lives in Lincoln, MA with his wife Enid and a music collection that has grown to alarming proportions.
