In the debut novel The Love We Had by Dedan Tolbert, readers will be delighted in this love story that takes place on a college campus. The story revolves around suave and charming Derrick and the quiet and reserved Maya. The love is destined for full bloom until the threats from Maya's crazed ex-boyfriend Carl, menace their happiness.

Author Dedan Tolbert tells a dazzling tale of two young people, who truly flatter one another. Their apparent infatuation displays the embodiment of a destined true love. The Love We Had is a novel that is sure to appeal to many for the author's delivery of emotions and accountability.

The author's imaginative ability to take readers into the lives of his characters leave readers wanting more, the authors also delivers the just right amount of suspense to keep you anticipating the characters next move.

With a debut like this, Dedan Tolbert is definitely on his way. His writing style is refreshing; his work of fiction brings classic romantic flair that will leave readers satisfied.

It was a joy reading The Love We Had, this introduction novel is destined to becoming an essential read for all book clubs. I excitedly wait for the author's next literary effort!
