Book Description
Have you ever felt like you didn't belong? Many of us, at some point in our lives, have experienced life as an outsider. Ricardo the Fierce is the touching story of an unusually small butterfly whose early struggles promise a life of unending challenge. But something marvelous happens as Ricardo's parents love him fiercely, nurturing and embracing him as a beautiful creature of God. Their compassion instills in Ricardo a confident spirit that is larger than life itself. In Ricardo the Fierce, the Rev. Tony Welty offers a modern day parable of how the beauty of belonging overcomes the despair of rejection. Ricardo the Fierce is a story of struggle, nurture and hospitality, a story you won't soon forget.
About the Author
Rev. Tony Welty may best be described as a creative communicator. As a musician, writer, husband, father, athlete, preacher and pastor, Tony utilizes his imagination in every aspect of his life to convey the truth of God's undying love for His beloved children. As a priest in the worldwide Anglican Communion, Tony offers a unique perspective as a storyteller who grew up among many different cultures while living in many different locations. After graduating from Ole Miss with a B.B.A in Finance, Tony spent several years in the corporate world before experiencing a dramatic conversion to the Christian faith and eventually attending seminary. Since graduating from Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry with a Master of Divinity degree, Tony has served as a parish priest in Pennsylvania and Illinois. In June 2006, Tony and his wife, Cherie, and their four children, Anna, Manning, Charles and Caroline, moved with their yellow lab, Ella, to the Nashville area. Tony currently serves as an Associate Rector at St. George's Episcopal Church, Nashville, where he is engaged in young adult and family ministry. Ricardo the Fierce is his first children's book.
