Best kids music out there - anywhere - that Adults love too!, January 11, 2007
The Sippy Cups are quite simply the best music out there for children AND adults. You and your kids get hooked after one song and there's no going back. Their live concerts sell out quickly too. The songs are reminiscent of great 60's and 70's rock music but still refreshing and new. One adult friend of ours wants the CD and he doesn't even have children. Great for kids *and* adults, December 29, 2006
I must admit--I hate kids music. But we were Sippy Cups fans because they covered 'adult' songs like Bennie and the Jets, I Wanna Be Elated, Bike, and Dear Prudence. But they're original tunes on this CD are amazing! They hook you in so you'll turn it on whenever the kids demand it. And get to one of their concerts if you can, too. It's a great show with lots of kid action and interaction and they're a fabulous band live. Check out their web site at [...]. (BTW, until Amazon starts stockin this, you can buy the CD at CDBaby.)

High-concept kiddie music, April 9, 2007
The Sippy Cups are a San Francisco Bay Area band that plays melodic rock music for little kids... They started out playing covers of classic rock songs by the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elton John, The Velvet Underground, The Ramones, et al, mixing solid musical performances with comedy skits, juggling and other circus tricks. It was an incredibly fun show, a winner for little kids and their hipster parents alike.
When they decided to make a record, though, their act changed, and they incorporated a bunch of original power-pop material, much of which is heard on this album. The disc also includes some spoken bits, as well as introducing characters from their stage show, such as Major Minor and Superguy. Taken out of context, though, without the accompanying theatrics, these songs might seem a little odd to the casual listener. But as a souvenir of their show, this disc's a winner... If you get a chance to see them in action, all will be clear!
