In my own words

I speak and read several languages, including Greek and Turkish, and am learning Persian and Arabic. My two great passions are hiking and reading... I love mountains, wetlands, rivers, deserts, wolves, the birds in my yard, Anatolia, the Hudson River,British Columbia, and
New Mexico...I enjoy teaching my students about environmental issues and social justice.

Interests

I love Iranian movies,historical fiction from the Middle East,anything from Iran, political and nature documentaries. I read a lot of current political analysis in order to understand the world, and am a great admirer of Naomi Klein, Chalmers Johnson, Amy Goodman, and Robert Fisk.
