Product Description

This is a true story...the story of my long journey, much of which I have traveled alone. Most of the time, I have not known where the road would lead...and I have no map to guide me through the darkness...no light at my feet. I still have many questions about this mysterious path I've been forced to take. It's like no other journey I have taken before. I hope others who find themselves on such an unexpected and unwanted journey will take heart from my book. My entire world changed on December 18, 2002, when I experienced a severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) from a fall at my place of work. Could I heal from this terrible injury? Would my family and I ever be able to enjoy anything approaching the quality of life we had before the accident?

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book, April 20, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: My Brain Gets Full (Paperback)
I've personally known Gayle and Donna Kelley for many years, I was shocked to learn of his injury and their ordeal, having moved from Kentucky 21 years ago. This book verifies my thoughts since I've known them, that they are both very strong people, and I am touched by how they have dealt with this. I'm proud to own this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for TBI victims and/or their caregivers., March 15, 2010
This review is from: My Brain Gets Full (Paperback)
G. Gayle Kelley's book is a great book of inspiration and personal triumph for TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) victims and their caregivers. Mr. Kelley's tale of his personal experience gives a first-hand insight into the effects of a TBI, on not only the victim of the injury, but the entire support structure of friends and family. His accounts, help those who are victims of the injury realize that they are not alone in their daily struggles. Through hard work and determination, many of these obstacles can be overcome. I would highly recommend this book to anyone with a traumatic brain injury, such as soldiers, accident victims. or victims of a stroke. Caregivers and friends will also gain a better insight into what their loved ones are going through on a daily basis.

5.0 out of 5 stars A True Understanding of TBI, February 8, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: My Brain Gets Full (Paperback)
After reading "My Brain Gets Full" I came away with a much better understanding of TBI. G. Gayle Kelley shared a tremendous amount of details regarding his inability to function in the world after his TBI. He then went on to educate the reader through this book about TBI and how to interact with at TBI survivor. It's truly a blessing to be able to hear first hand what this TBI survivor has to say to the world. Great book! Excellent read.
