About The Awful

I was bored on the 9th of Octover 1940 when, I believe, the Nasties were still booming us led by Madolf Heatlump (who only had one). Anyway they didn't get me. I attended to varicous schools in Liddypol. And still didn't pass -- much to my Aunties supplies. As a member of the most publified Beatles my (P, G, and R's) records might seem funnier to some of you than this book, but as far as I'm conceived this correction of short writty is the most wonderfoul larf I've every ready.

God help and breed you all. --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

About the Author
Best known as singer-songwriter for the legendary Beatles, John Lennon was born in Liverpool, England. In 1969, Lennon married Yoko Ono and the two formed the Plastic Ono Band. Lennon was killed by a deranged fan outside his apartment building in New York on December 8, 1980. --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Twisted and wonderful as ever!, August 15, 1999
By A Customer
I bought this book 35 years ago for 2.50, and it is still worth every penny you will pay for it today. The humor and humanity are as barbed and poignant as I remember them, and even moreso.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Fun!, January 3, 2001

This review is from: In His Own Write (Hardcover)
Anything written by John Lennon is worth having - he was a gem. This is funny and caustic and enlightening, and will adorn any book shelf. I can also highly recommend "A Spaniard In the Works", which is my personal favourite, but hey, why not have both?

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, not just because it's John Lennon, February 16, 2007

Don't let these other reviewers scare you. You don't need to worship John Lennon to enjoy this book. Even if you don't like the Beatles, it is really great reading. In particluar, I think the poem 'Deaf Ted, Danoota, and Me' shows real talent.
