Editorial Reviews
From AudioFile
In this 1915 saga of several generations of a Midlands family, Lawrence expresses an almost mystical tie between sex and the "rhythm of eternity." Peter Jeffrey communicates this and the superb, complex characterizations with resonance, clarity, maturity and finesse. He's a superb narrator. He misses the author's sinewy virility but otherwise delivers a more interesting story than Lawrence wrote. Y.R. Review
“[Lawrence] had that quality of genius which sucks out of ordinary experience essences strange or unknown to men.” —Anaïs Nin
