5.0 out of 5 stars Insightful, creative and fantastic source of information, September 3, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Nubian Wedding Book: Words and Rituals to Celebrate and Plan an African-American Wedding (Paperback)
I am interested in becoming a wedding coordinator and wanted information that would be useful for my clients. The Nubian Wedding Book was more than "a good start". The presentations are interesting and thought provoking and greatly adds to the readers desire to include African cultural elements to an ever changing event. This is a must have for all individuals interested in planning or partaking in African traditions for that "special day".

Read, dream, plan and enjoy... with this book... all your wishes will come true!

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative and Inspiring, June 2, 1998
By A Customer
My husband and I were considering renewing our vows and wanted to do something different and enlightening. After reading and re-reading and reading this book again we are so excited. We are incorporating so much of the suggestions from the Tasting of the spices, Black Wedding Cake, to the Broom Jumping. The customs are allowing my husband to be more involved than in a typical ceremony. The book was so thorough. It answered questions before I could ask them.

4.0 out of 5 stars A must for African-American brides, August 7, 1998
By A Customer
I had a chance to purchase this book for my upcoming wedding. The ideas are exquisite and very meaningful. I have gathered many helpful ideas - from pouring libation to writing vows. Other books tend to focus on the material aspects of a wedding. Theses may be important, but the most important aspect - the spirituality - is what this books highlights. It's a great buy if you're a bride-to-be or would make a great engagement gift.
