Product Description

Do you want to learn Spanish? Es mas facil que el pan (It's as easy as pie). Do you think French a bit daunting? Il n'y a pas de quoi fouetter un chat (It's nothing to make a fuss about). Believe you could never learn German? Man soll nie nie sagen (Never say never). Have you always wanted to learn Italian? Va de se (It goes without saying). Living Language Calendars are the perfect way to bring a little bit of a foreign language into everyday speech. Full of amusing dialogue, they give a lighthearted touch to language study. Each page highlights a common expression along with an English translation and a simple phonetic pronunciation guide. No drills or rote memorization here. And on top of these useful and entertaining phrases, each language features a specific cultural theme throughout the year. Spanish literature is highlighted in this calendar, including bios of such writers as Gabriel Garcia Marquez and analyses of famous literary characters like Don Quixote.

5.0 out of 5 stars Useful Item!, April 21, 2005
By NancyB "NancyB" (California, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Living Language: Spanish: 2005 Daily Phrases & Culture Calendar (Calendar)
This calendar has both simple phrases for the beginner as well as some idiomatic phrases which are helpful for the more advanced Spanish learner. I find it a nice review (I usually know most of the phrases) with some new phrases each month which I didn't previously know. A nice, light way to keep up with Spanish at least a little bit every day.

How in depth can a daily calender be? This helps me review daily, and for that it is good.

5.0 out of 5 stars The calenadar is great but...., March 9, 2007
I started using this calendar last year as a supplement to my Spanish classes and decided that I wanted to have one again for 2007. I couldn't find it in my local bookstores so I went on Amazon and ordered it.
The calendar is great, I like studying all the phrases and have been able to use them in my own communications in Spanish. My only negative issue is with the packaging of the calendar. When I opened the box and unwrapped the calendar, the back of the calendar came off the desktop stand. It came unglued or something but I had to wrap tape around it to keep the calendar together. Maybe the manufacturer could come up with a better means of attaching the calendar pages to the backing.
