From Booklist

Elizabeth Young met a different fate than her vampire brothers. Turned into a werewolf centuries ago, she has settled down in a small American town to work on a cure for her affliction. If settled is the right word. Her hormones have ramped into overload for Jensen, a very human vet. And she has been running from her unstable alpha, her mate, who needs her to regain power in the pack. Life doesn't get much more complicated than this, or dangerous, but with the help of her friends, family, and a newfound love, Elizabeth has more than a fighting chance. Love has a way of expertly blending poignant narrative with wonderfully lovable flawed characters, and in the final book about the Young siblings (Fangs but No Fangs, 2006; I Only Have Fangs for You, 2006), she adds a suspense-filled, supersexy plot to keep her readers' hearts racing in more ways than one. Davis, Nina C.

Product Description

The sexy Young brothers may know a fang or two about the art of seduction, but their sister, Elizabeth, is positively mooning over a few issues of her own

Bad Moon Rising

Elizabeth Young's brothers think they have it rough as vampires? Ha! Two words for them: unwanted hair. What werewolf Elizabeth craves is a normal life with a husband, kids, and less shaving. Unfortunately the vaccine she's researched isn't working yet. Worse, she's in heat—and soon every dangerous wolf pack for miles around will be at her door. To buy time, she needs to have sex, and often, with the first human male she can find

Veterinarian Jensen Adler just meant to drown his sorrows, until a stunning, leather-clad brunette made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Now he's caught up in something really weird, definitely dangerous, and, okay, extremely hot. So his new girlfriend's hiding something (and she's a little freaky about the moon), but Jensen knows true love when he feels it, and this time, he's not giving upno matter how hairy things get.

5.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable tale of a Werewolf and a Vet, June 25, 2007
"My sister is a Werewolf" initially appears to be one of the slightly humorous paranormals that are so popular at the moment. However this book doesn't have any particular humour but it does have a very well-written tale of two people with lots of baggage falling in love and carving out a future together. It's a follow-up to three other books about the heroine's brothers but this book works fine as a standalone novel and any relevant backstory is given.

Elizabeth Young isn't quite what she seems - a research scientist living in a quiet backwater. Yes, she is those things, but she also has a secret life as a Werewolf and her research aims to 'cure' herself of lycanthropy. She has broken away from her pack and is living on her own but she has a 'mate', Brody, so her life is not her own, even though she has run away from him.

Jensen Adler is the local veterinarian and little else. Since his fiancée Katie died he hasn't dated any other women and isn't really living much of a life, just looking after his grandfather and working. When some friends arrange a blind date for him he finds himself completely knocked sideways by a woman - unfortunately not his date. The woman seems to respond to him and they end up leaving the bar together.

The relationship in this book is rather backwards - sex first, getting to know each other later - but there's a reason for it which becomes clear in due course. However Jensen finds himself with a woman who seems to either try to seduce him or to run away. Her behaviour appears in some ways outrageous but he is also aware that this isn't her normal nature. Jensen notes there are some strange things about Elizabeth, and her brothers are also a bit odd, and yet he continues to try to have a relationship with her and to put up with her vacillations about whether they should see each other.

Most of this book focuses on the relationship between Jensen and Elizabeth. The couple appear on almost every page and even the return of Brody and the potential harm he could cause Jensen doesn't intrude too much into the plot. This story is about characters getting to knew each other and finding out each others' history, even though much has to be kept in the dark.

The writing style in this book was very good and it was an easy read with excellent pacing. Despite the fact that the plot is actually rather thin, it felt like a satisfying book to read and was never boring. I wondered if the author could have made more of the threat from Brody, especially as the final denouement happened very quickly and was solved in a rather facile way, but it was still a worthwhile read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Gem , July 30, 2007
By Judy "book reader" (Cincinnati, ohio United States) - See all my reviews
(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)
Kathy Love does another hot and sexy tale in My Sister Is A Werewolf.

Elizabeth Young has been finally reunited with her long lost brothers. This should bring her joy but she has that pesky werewolf business to deal with. Plus she is hard at work trying to find a cure for her ailment. Elizabeth can't explain why she is so restless of late, she is on edge. She spots an attractive man at her brother's bar that she approaches for a night of passion with no strings.

Veterinarian Jensen Adler has moved back home to help his aging grandfather with his vet practice. This is also a chance for him to start to socialize again after a tragic loss. When a stunning woman offers to rock his world there is no way he is saying no. But this wild and sexy woman has a sweet and vulnerable side that Jensen is also intrigued by.

Elizabeth and Jensen both have troubled past that are affecting their daily lives. When a man from Elizabeth's past tries to cause trouble, Elizabeth tries to protect her love ones. But Jensen has his own ideas about keeping Elizabeth safe.

My Sister Is A Werewolf is a wonderful addition to the previous books in this series. It was a special treat for me to reconnect with her brothers and their mates. Seeing them interact with Elizabeth just made me love them more. This book is another keeper for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Werewolf Romance (B+ Grade), November 24, 2008
By C. Garrabrant "Katiebabs" (Bloomfield, NJ USA) - See all my reviews

Finally, an author has written an exceptional werewolf romance with an unyielding female as its lead. Kathy Love's My Sister is a Werewolf is loosely connected to her other series featuring three vampire brothers; this story is about their baby sister, an intelligent and loving woman who wants to be "normal," which means being human.

Elizabeth Young is a centuries old werewolf who relocated to Shady Fork, West Virginia after reuniting with her three brothers. Elizabeth lost her family after they were attacked by an evil vampire. It is never fully explained, but Elizabeth became a victim of a werewolf and was believed to be dead. She was discovered by alpha werewolf Brody Devlin, and lived with his pack until seven years ago when she choose to escape his maniacal rule.

The most important thing in Elizabeth's life at the moment is the creation of a vaccine to cure her "ailment." Lately, her concentration has been off and she has become restless with an irritating need for something - or rather someone - who can make it stop. Elizabeth has no idea that her "true mate" resides in the same town and she finds him at her brother's bar one night, where she has gone to let out her frustrations. She knows the moment when she lays eyes on Jensen Adler that he can help scratch her itch.

Jensen is the town's only veterinarian and lives with his loving grandfather. He refuses to let go of his guilt over the death of his high school sweetheart and the one night he finally agrees to go out with his friends, he is instantly enthralled with Elizabeth and overcome with lust. He soon leaves the bar because he can't handle the uncomfortable reaction but doesn't get very far because Elizabeth is waiting for him in the parking lot where they proceed to have some very hot sex in his truck. Afterwards, they are both horrified - Jensen as he doesn't even know her name, and Elizabeth because she feels as though her body has taken over her mind.

Elizabeth is the aggressor in this relationship at first, but all too soon Jensen wants more than just sweaty, mind-numbing sex with his mysterious lady. But she is not too keen on having a new boyfriend - how will she be able to hide her werewolf nature and find a cure? To say nothing of her psycho werewolf mate Brody, who could show up at any time to destroy her new happiness.

Brody himself is an interesting piece of work as he has no morals or scruples. His mind is so far gone that he can't decide if he still wants Elizabeth back or just wants to kill her because she has become so deeply involved with a human. Brody also comprehends the exact nature of Elizabeth and Jensen's relationship before either one of them does, which puts them both in grave danger.

Elizabeth eventually grasps that living as a werewolf may be a good thing rather than a hindrance while Jensen tries not to fall in love again because he has become so emotionally scarred from his fiancée's unfortunate demise. But, thankfully, he comes to the realization that his life isn't over sooner, rather than later, which helped things move along nicely. Elizabeth and Jensen do complete each other and by the end I believed they were perfect mates in every sense. The only disappointment I had was that the ending felt too sudden and too pat.

Kathy Love's past works tended to be very tame and a tad fluffy, so I was very surprised to discover My Sister Is a Werewolf (despite it's dreadful title and cover art) to be very insightful, erotic, and suspenseful. I enjoyed reading Elizabeth's journey to "being normal." So what if she howls at the full moon and becomes furry at certain times of the month?
