Editorial Reviews

Review

"A fantastic job...pulling together all the knowledge and information necessary for a deep understanding of...FI systems..." -- webBikeWorld.com Online Magazine

"An in-depth book on (an) extremely technical system... (Written) in a chatty and casual way to boot." -- CMG Online Magazine, November 2004

"This book...is brilliantly written and thoroughly explains the concepts and components that make up modern EFI... Truly all-inclusive..." -- Motorcycle Consumer News Magazine, December 2004, Holiday Buyer's Guide (Editor's Picks)

Product Description

Quite simply, the definitive handbook on the hows and whys of modern motorcycle electronic fuel injection. With almost a third of the book devoted to a study of the science of combustion in laypeople's terms, this book is heavy on the theory that brings together things like sensor placement and mapping strategy in an understandable package.

Covering all OE fuel injection systems available on motorcycles (starting in 1980), as well as all major aftermarket tuning devices and parts, this is a great way to learn how to make educated choices about the tuning you do on fuel-injected bikes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book on the market..., December 3, 2004

...about this super-complicated topic. Wade dives into the real nitty-gritty about mc fuel injection systems, what to chop for, how to tune, theories of better engine management. It's incredible...lots of diagrams and charts and helpful info.

4.0 out of 5 stars Helps take the mystery out of fuel injection, January 18, 2007
By Electroman (Louisville, CO USA) - See all my reviews
I like this book, yet I'm a motorcycle fanatic and an electronic engineer. It's takes some effort to get to the core of EFI, which is the volumetric efficiency table. It explains speed-density EFI control, alpha-n EFI control, and mass air flow EFI control. The book discusses the trade offs between the three in regards to motorcycle applications. You won't get that in a automotive EFI book.

1.0 out of 5 stars A worthy effort, but not quite enough.

OK Primer, BMW information is dated dealing with the Motronic systems and no updates for the BMSC or BMSK. As a BASIC overview it was informative.
