Editorial Reviews

Review

"...a must - not only for the laser surgeon but also for the resident in training and for the general dermatologist who does not perform laser surgery..." -- Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology

"...an exceptionally good text, with extremely good illustrations, and should be looked upon as a necessity for novice laser surgeons, and as a valuable addition for the experienced laser surgeon." --

"...the best book published to date on cutaneous laser surgery...it should become the model for subsequent "how to" books in surgery because of its logical format and thoroughness..." -- Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Review

"I Like this book. It provides both an overview and very explicit information about lasers and their cutaneous and aesthetic uses. Throughout the photographic images are excellent with respect to quality, composition, and appropriateness to demonstrate the points being made. "Extensive terminology is explained and clarified. ...this cross-specialty book is neither too complex for the neonate nor too simple for the moderately advanced plastic surgeon who uses lasers. Even the most experienced laser surgeon would benefit. The book is very reasonably priced considering the many color photographs and the expertise and information contained therein."--Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery )

4.0 out of 5 stars lasers for your skin, December 30, 2004
By W Boudville (Terra, Sol 3) - See all my reviews
(TOP 10 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
Who could have imagined in the early years of lasers, that one day they would be vital for skin surgery? Many people are already familiar with how lasers are used in eye surgery. But the book shows that for treating various skin ailments, lasers are also proving vital.

The book is written for a medical professional. It covers the various types of lasers used in treatment, like dye lasers, or the continuous wave models. It shows the different techniques that each can be used for.

Cosmetic surgery also gets prominent discussion here. A quite lucrative speciality. And the ability of lasers to remove skin blemishes is quite remarkable.
