Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

"The planet has hit a barrier which prevents any widespread social progress drugs and other biochemical substances," warns L. Ron Hubbard in Clear Body Clear Mind: The Effective Purification Program (originally published in 1990). Hubbard outline a detoxification program aimed at eliminating the build-up of destructive chemicals in the body (including narcotics, prescription drugs, pesticides and preservatives). The program stresses exercises, sauna visits, vitamin supplements and plenty of water and fresh vegetables. The book also includes testimony from people who've successfully completed the program.

From Library Journal

The late founder of the Church of Scientology and author of phenomenal best seller Dianetics (Bridge, 1950) created the detoxification regimen of running, saunas, natural oils, and specific vitamins and minerals that is clearly presented in this book. Included in the book are numerous testimonies from people who used this regimen to recover from substance abuse, radiation illness, Agent Orange-related diseases, and more. Still, readers should know that Hubbard's advocacy of megavitamins to detoxify the body has not been medically proven and is considered a controversial regimen by the regular medical community. Notwithstanding the footnoting (of common as well as technical terms--meant to promote accessibility but maddening to literate readers), a "bibliography" consisting of items available from Bridge (the official Church publisher), and a biographical note which virtually canonizes Hubbard, this title would be appropriate for large general-audience collections with subject demand in alternative therapies or Scientology.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everybody should at least be aware of these ideas., September 28, 1998
By A Customer
I did the procedures for purging drug residues from the body described in "Clear Body, Clear Mind." I definitely could think much more clearly afterwards, and got sick a lot less--and those gains have stayed with me for years. Here's a before-and-after example: before the process, I couldn't play chess very well. I just couldn't see more than a couple of moves ahead. Afterwards, I couldn't lose against the people with whom I normally play! I can now calculate twice as many moves ahead. The ability to "see ahead" has applications in every area of my life. Even if you don't actually DO the procedure, the information in this book will help you avoid the drugs and toxins (e.g. food preservatives) that can and do muddy your ability to think.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read for anyone involved with hazmat, November 9, 1998
By A Customer
I've done the program outlined in Clear Body Clear Mind and experienced a resurgence in energy, improved eyesight, and greater clarity of thought. And the toxic substances I had been exposed to were merely the common drugs of an unenlightened adolescence. More significant are the results obtained from a fellow I had corresponded with.

A retired Army Captain, Larry had been a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, with more than 600 combat missions under his belt. He had been directly exposed to Agent Orange a number of times during his tour.

The effects of Agent Orange on Larry were profound, essentially disabling him. When the government denied responsibility and other doctors could not help Larry, he did the detox outlined in Clear Body Clear Mind. He experienced great relief from this program. A year later he did the program again and completely blew all of his Agent Orange symptoms. After years they have not returned.

This program works. It removes residual toxins from your body. It's a great boost for the average person and vital for those who work around or have been exposed to hazardous materials. More and more the efficacy of the program is being recognized by authorities in the field. But you don't have to wait for them. Buy the book, read it, and draw your own conclusions. Think for yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Results, October 19, 2000
By A Customer
Not only did I read this book, but once I read it I located a center that delivers this program and took advantage of this procedure to rid my body of accumulated drug and toxin residuals. Whew!! My skin got younger...my alertness increased many times over...I felt much more alive physically then I had in many years...and I got first hand reality on just how damaging toxins are to ones well-being!!

I recommend this book to everyone. I recommend the program as well.
