Product Description

Reckless Disregard is a frontline soldier's report on how liberalism and national security don't mix.

From the Inside Flap

"Democratic presidents placed American fighting men and women in harm's way without the resolve to support them, without the moral authority and courage to command them, and without clear mission objectives for them to achieve."

-Lt. Col. Robert "Buzz" Patterson

In his stunning new book, Lieutenant Colonel Robert "Buzz" Patterson (USAF, Ret.)-not only a combat veteran and author of the huge New York Times bestseller Dereliction of Duty, but a former White House military aide who carried the "nuclear football" for President Clinton-makes an overwhelming case that the once great Democratic Party cannot be entrusted with the nation's defense and foreign policy.

Coming from a military family of conservative Democrats, Lt. Col. Patterson learned the hard way that the Democratic Party of Jimmy Carter and Bill and Hillary Clinton, behaves with reckless disregard for American security and for the lives of America's soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines.

With coverage that spans the battlefields of Afghanistan and Iraq to debates in Congress, Lt. Col. Patterson reveals:

* How Clinton never understood that it takes twenty years for the military to develop a young soldier into a commander-and how he therefore sacrificed the future as well as destroyed the existing military systems * How the disastrous presidencies of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton encouraged radical Islamic terror against the United States * Why Bush critic Richard Clarke-whom Lt. Col. Patterson served with in the Clinton White House-is a fraud * How the Democrats continue to gut our military effectiveness

Relentless in its critique-told with all the passion and conviction of a combat pilot-and urgent in its message, Reckless Disregard belongs in the hands of every American patriot.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Is For "American Patriot" in "Middle America", August 31, 2004
By USAFAV8tor (Baghdad, Iraq) - See all my reviews
Pres Bush has never admitted to such. Patterson has written a well researched and documented thesis. He has the background to be taken quite seriously and writes from the heart. And most of my squadron mates agree completely. Have you read "Unfit for Command?" Have you read this book or are you just looking to vent. Do you read anything other than Moore, Chomsky or Ivins? Didn't think so. You are the disgrace. Your party is playing politics with my men. Your candidate is drowning in his cesspool of misrepresentations and blind ambition. Kerry lied and Vietnam vets died. We are proud to serve and Iraq is not a mistake. Quit smoking the hooka pipe long enough to wake up and smell the truth. Your military is fighting a just and worthy fight...and Col Patterson tells our story well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Should be Required Reading, June 22, 2004
By A Customer
Should be required that every new voter read this book before being allowed to register. It frightens me to think we could elect another "poor to sorry" Commander in Chief after the last Democrat that lived in the White House. As a former Army officer who spent 26 years in the military, I feel that I have the right to express my views. I served under Bill Clinton............never again. Well researched evidence that Kerry is not the man. Very well written and will become a best seller. Col Patterson hits the nail on the head.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Politics of Treason, August 27, 2004
By Bob Smith (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews
In his first book, "Dereliction of Duty," Buzz Patterson divulged his eyewitness account of the many ways Bill Clinton compromised America's national security. Buzz was, after all, one of Clinton's senior aides and entrusted with carrying the "nuclear suitcase."

In this book, which is even better, Buzz takes the gloves off. He calls John Kerry a traitor for his post-Vietnam War activities. He even reproduces the entire manuscript of Kerry's testimony before congress in 1971 in which Kerry calls his "brothers in arms" war criminals, murderers and rapists. But he doesn't stop there. He calls Hillary Clinton a traitor for using her visit to the battlefields of Afghanistan and Iraq as a political podium for selfish personal political gain.

Similarly, he's not done with Clinton yet. He squarely challenges the Clinton administration, and Richard Clarke in particular, on their many failures in meeting the threat of terror.

Buzz Patterson is a gifted writer, a retired military officer, a commercial airline pilot, and a national security expert. This is the book to buy to educate yourself for not only this election but elections to come. Buzz hits another home run!
