From Library Journal
"Eclectic" is the word for this collection of plans for do-it-yourself play houses. The projects range from the simplicity of a sapling lean-to to an elaborate A-frame that more closely resembles a vacation home. In between are appliance box castles, plastic pipe assemblages, a miniature Victorian cottage, and a neighborhood clubhouse that doubles as a garden shed. Most of the 30 or so plans provide a materials list and easy-to-follow construction drawings. Concern for safety as well as fun are reflected in the projects, some of which are original and others of which are compiled from extension service brochures or the promotional literature of lumber manufacturers and trade associations. A good source of ideas for do-it-yourself parents or child care providers. A worthwhile addition to most public libraries.
