A new "reader" has been published by Professor Daniel Henrich. Henrich is a mediastrategy consultant who has been working in Asia for the past 20 years. He is currently serving as the Regional Media Strategy Consultant for a major Christian organization in Southeast Asia and teaching Communications at Liberty University. "When I finished the book, I decided that I was more interested in media & missions personnel thinking strategicially. The book contains articles by mediastrategy personnel as well as case studies," Henrich commented.
About the Author
Professor Dan Henrich served as a media missionary in the Middle East, India, Pakistan and Kenya since 1982. Prior to that he worked in Advertising and multi-media production. Starting in the 1980s Henrich conducted media training workshops in India, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Kenya, the Middle East (country withheld), Burkina Faso, the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand. He lived in the Middle East doing pre-production research for a children's entertainment-education TV series eventually produced by a major organization and aired on TV. Moving to Kenya in 1988, Henrich co-wrote, researched and produced (with International Media Ministries) "SABINA'S ENCOUNTER," a drama about a barren woman and her search for hope in Christ. Sabina's Encounter has been seen by 20 million people in English, Swahili and African French. In the early 1990s, Henrich facilitated the dubbing of three Billy Graham Evangelistic Association films into Swahili and two Nigerian languages. In 1995 his family (wife and 4 children) moved to Virginia Beach to do graduate work at Regent University on the effects of language dubbing and comprehension. In 1998 Henrich joined Liberty University as Assistant Professor of Communication Studies, teaching advertising and broadcasting courses. In 2000 he was retained by the International Mission Board (SBC) as Regional Media Strategy Consultant overseeing media in SE Asia. He is currently writing his dissertation at the University of South Africa on the effects of western television on Thai university students.
