2.0 out of 5 stars Great Title , unexceptional read, July 16, 2007
By Rick Kalal (Knoxville, TN United States) - See all my reviews

Much of wht Joseph Umidi has written is without question important to understand and apply in ones life. He talks a lot about Transformational Coaching but does not tip his hand on the actual nuts and bolts of how to actually do it. He does give a lot of important principles. Instead he invites you to take his 40 week course to learn. I am a PhD in Education and have three masters degrees in counseling and divinity and have been a coach and counselor for 25 years that being said I remain disappointed to find the book is one long advertisement to join his army of Transformational Coaches and take his class..

5.0 out of 5 stars Coaching is the way to go!, June 6, 2005
By Gerald Khoo (Singapore) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Dr. Umidi is the founder of Transformational Leadership Coaching (TLC) - http://www.transformationalcoaching.com/. Being a teacher and university professor for many years, he has discovered that transformation happens experiencially, rather than through a lecture or seminar, and hence started TLC. This book brings out the important aspects of coaching, and coaching is about empowered and transforming questions that seeks to bring out the best in a person. I believe this book comes at a time where the impact of seminars is declining, as people often walk away from a seminar inspired, but soon after reverts back to their normal way of life. This book is a great read, but better still is to join the programme and be transformed through the process of being coached, and also learning to coach others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly revolutionary and life changing, May 30, 2006
This book represents an accurate and concise overview of a very revolutionary approach to the life coaching model. The author brings an effective, ethical and natural flow to coaching that far surpasses some of the more esoteric models that exist in the coaching industry. The good news is that transformational coaching works. The even better news is that you can learn the process. A must read for coaches and leaders looking to take their influence and leadership to the next level.
