About the Author
Cindy Sheehan is an American anti-Iraq War activist who attracted international attention in August 2005 for her 26 day demonstration at a peace camp outside President George W. Bush's Texas ranch. Sheehan became a vocal antiwar activist after the death of her son, US Army Specialist Casey Sheehan, in Iraq last year. She is sometimes referred to by the media as the "Peace Mom.”
