Product Description

Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming, one of the world's foremost authorities on Chin Na instructs his techniques up-close and in detail. Chin Na, the art of controlling an opponent through joint locks and accupressure cavities, is an essential part of all Chinese martial styles, and will be a valuable addition to any other martial style.
With Chin Na In Depth Course 1, you will learn Chin Na for controlling and incapacitating your opponent with finger, hand and joint-locking techniques. Each of these techniques can be found in Dr. Yang's best-selling book "Comprehensive Applications of Shaolin Chin Na."(Appendix A)
Dr. Yang also shows corrections for common mistakes, as students demonstrate the techniques.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally available on video from Master Yang!, January 7, 2003
By A Customer
Master Yang is known in the martial arts community as a humble and very generous teacher, but those who have taken a seminar with him also know that his level of expertise in certain areas is unparalleled, and that he can put you on the floor before you can blink. This series of twelve videos is a comprehensive demonstration of dozens of ancient chin na grappling techniques, with detailed personal instruction from Master Yang. Later in the series, he also shows corrections for common mistakes, which really helps answer questions as to why one technique is more effective than another for you, and how to get a feeling for the correct angles needed for practical chin na.

If you don't know, Chin Na means "seize and control" in Chinese and it's a part of all Chinese martial arts styles. The art of Chin Na has slowly been lost from martial arts, especially in America, and it can be added to any style of training. Good for getting back to the roots of your fighting system.

It really opens your eyes to hundred of possiblities in any fighting or sparring situation, and also to how little difference it makes how big you are, against someone skilled with Chin Na, th old "brains versus brawn".

I highly recommend this and other Chin Na videos by Dr. Yang, who I consider to be the world's foremost authority on the subject.
